I will go along with Thornton. Even in his days in Boston he was touted as something he wasn't.

There is an old saying about hiding your light under a basket...I think sometimes that is what he does.

Thanks for the heads up. Methinks I shall keep a closer eye on this one.

Pasha has mentioned before that Igor was his idol growing up...it's good to see that the qualities that made Larionov a class act have been passed down...and now there is another young one coming up the ranks that may just pass on that goodness to another generation of players. I've not paid much attention to this fellow in Winnepeg, but perhaps it might behoove me to change that.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. Pasha is one of the most gracious, generous and humble souls I've ever met. If there were more people like him in this world, it would be a kinder place.

I think Pasha knows that at a certain point, the edge is going to be gone, and he wants to go out before that edge is completely gone. That being said, though, I hope it's a lot longer than 2 years before he goes. I daresay, evilzyme, you will not be the only one who cries their heart out when he goes.

No one is stating the obvious?? I guess he who shall not be named is a given, so taking that into consideration, I'll have to go with Luongo, and the Sedin sisters. Of course, most anyone wearing a Vancouver jersey could fall under that description.

If you could reset the career of one Wings player...
Kira replied to dirtydangles's topic in General
It would have to be Vladdie, but if I could clone Pasha and have him all over again, that wouldn't be too hard to swallow either. -
I met him the first year I went to training camp. Nice guy.

He just makes it look so damned easy.

Who is your favorite player from a team besides the Wings?
Kira replied to CaliforniaWingsFan's topic in General
Milan Lucic. I'd love to have him in red and white. He's a tough cookie, but he's not afraid to score as well. -
He wants a second opinion? Okay, here ya go - you're ugly too.
-
I don't think most of them are. There are always exceptions to the rule. But I dare you to say that to, oh, Pasha, Igor Larionov, Slava Fetisov (or Kozlov, either one) or someone like that. I think they'd deck you.

Given a choice between the two (which is kinda like a "pick your poison" proposition), I'd take Alex Semin anytime.

signed Wings hire Tom Renney as Assistant Coach (3-year contract)

I'm actually comfortable with this move. It could be beneficial. -
Okay, peeps...it's not the end of the world as we know it. You'll get over this. Seriously. Can we now resume our regularly scheduled lives?

Okay, maybe I'm being stupid here, but am I the only person on the planet who doesn't think the world will end if we don't get this guy?- 487 replies

Good God, no. I don't want him, we don't need him...he's got more baggage than FedEx at Christmas time. He can stay where he is...he and Columbus deserve each other.

My only hope is that the damned whistles stay in Nashville. I'd like to think we have more sense than they do, and wouldn't even dream of letting those things in the arena. I must say, though, this is a surprise. I didn't even know we were thinking about him.

Only as a punching bag for Justin Abdelkader to practice on.

This is like asking you to pick your favorite from your kids. 1) Pasha...never a doubt. My favorite from day one. 2) Patrick Eaves. You might think this a weird pick, but I like his guts and his play on the penalty kill. We missed him so much when he was hurt, I expect to see him back and ready to roll. 3) Drew Miller. The same reasoning as Patrick. I like his play on the penalty kill. He's a good, steady guy on the third/fourth line. And you can never go wrong with guys like that. 4) Ian White. What a find he turned out to be. I like him. 5) Valtteri Filppula. Flip's coming on and I think he's going to be coming out of his shell and surprising people. Can you tell that with the exception of number one, I kinda favor the underdogs???

The first time I read it I was in tears. To lose a parent is difficult - I know that first hand. But to lose a parent at 16, which is such a vulnerable age in any condition, has to be devastating. To rise above all this heartache is a testimony to his courage and spirit. He makes me so proud that he's a Red Wing, and I'm even prouder to say that I know him (albeit a little bit). I wonder if I'll get a hug this time at camp???

A closteful. I'm bad with guessing games.

So he wants to sit out the season and have the team pick up his paycheck. Is it just me, or do the words, "You can't have it both ways" apply here?
