Joey MacDonald claimed by Calgary off waivers
FifeHockeyNut replied to derblaueClaus's topic in General
Honestly, who would want to pick him up? -
NHL Gamecenter Live **No illegal stream discussion**

Does game centre work outwith north America? -
Irn Bru (Scottish soft drink, and as he's a soft Euro ;-) lol)
-
To honour him could we have 96 painted in the crease? Just to remind any visiting goalies that are getting cocky because he's not there any more.
-
Has everyone just deliberately forgotten about Emmerton or will he be on IR after surgery on finger? Also, not heard anything to suggest that Eaves is better, anyone got an update on that?

They had a few chances to leave when things got close before, but they didn't. So I will take that as a positive indication of bargaining.

I agree although they have all said they would come back if nothing gets sorted. It is a positive move though.

Looming end to lockout or 'just because'?

All the NHL players in the UK have all headed back to north America, more in hope rather than expectation at this point I think. Drew was the last to leave.

Really lit up the British game and gave some real credibility to our game in Scotland.

Haha, thanks for that! I'm a bit slow so it might take me a few tries to remember that!

Got 52, missed Lang, May, Conklin but perhaps most embaressing I couldn't spell Filippula correctly in 20 minutes, not even convinced I spelt it right there!
-
He's absolutely flying, a clear elite player in the league. Although the less said about the four goals scored against fife the better.
-
I notice Pulu only has 5 points through 18 games, is this due to poor play or reduced ice time due to influx of NHLers into the Finnish league and reduced ice time?
-
Scored his first goal tonight, from what I here he's still finding his game. Going to see him next week so we'll see how he fares then!
-
Exactly what I'm thinking, exciting stuff!
-
The British players are considerably below the ECHL level but certainly all the players I can think of from NA are all ECHL standard with some having decent AHL experience. Drew should tear it up.
-
That ruins any chance my Flyers had of being the top team in Scotland, really looking forward to Drew coming to Fife! Probably the closest I'll come to a Red Wings game!!
-
Tony Hand was a great player in his prime but given that he never played for the Fife Flyers I was never a massive fan, call it a childish rivalry. Mark Morrison (now coach at St Johns in AHL) was an great player in the UK, loved him.

Are the logos, names etc not registered trademarks of the NHL? Although I totally agree with you that a team owner should "own" these entities.

There is a good chance that Buff will celebrate getting off so lightly by getting drunk on a boat.

Red Wings Rebuilding and Adapting to Maintain Dominance
FifeHockeyNut replied to MrBest7's topic in General
Good post. It's not all doom and gloom, We have good prospects with a bit of luck all (or at least some) will be great prospects. Kenny, jimmy D, Mr Illitch have worked very hard for the last 20 years to make this team compete, that doesn't change over night. -
I agree I think Mrazek could be pushing Jimmy, really excited by this guy. Fingers crossed DeKeyser joins us next year. Also fan of Pullkinnen, hoping the holy slapped makes it to hockeytown. With all this said two years may be too soon for each of these guys.

Belfast have Stephen Murphy, no way Joey gets a gets a game ahead of Murph!

That's an interesting point, if we were taking Kovys ridiculous contract we could potentially rid ourselves of Franzens daft contract. This has moved me from the "no" side to sitting on the fence.
