I agree... seen this before, where the team seems unable to play decently for one goalie, but does for the other. Wings are better than this, so perhaps they can explain it to Jimmy. I don't buy the argument that they have to spend too much time playing super-D, so their offense is hurt. Nope. They are a better team than this - to succumb to the mentality that they simply cannot score for Howard.

So where exactly is Howard supposed to go? They'll have to trade for another goalie, and I don't see that this season.

totally agree... back to back, with Wings having to travel... then the horrible start time, and I read on fb where someone set off the fire alarm in their hotel at 3AM. Pretty juvenile stuff, in so many ways...

I seriously thought about calling in sick - but my office is so small -- it would be noticed. Especially since I am pretty much never sick or absent. Gonna try to figure out how to at least keep up with the game, since work is tricky with internet and streams and such. If it's on gamecenter, I might be able to check in. If not -- tell me again why the NHL thought this was a good idea, to have a noon broadcast of what is a work day for most people? Also, giving us back to back matinee games, plus the Wings had to travel on top of it -- one way to stack the deck against the Wings where the brass can look all innocent and say "What? There's no evil intent here!" Wankers.

that's not what I call it. I have to work, as do most people. A noon game on a "holiday" which only federal and some state employees get? Seriously? The "Team in red" as NBC calls them (aka the Red Wings) will have their work cut out for them. For those of you who are retired or otherwise exempt from working for a paycheck.... enjoy.

The turnaround time between today's game and tomorrow's has to be a league record. They might as well stay up and keep working out, just pretend it's a long intermission -- with travel involved. Very few of us have the day off tomorrow - at least, no one I know does - so the noon game will not have many viewers, I expect. Niggling worry: Datsyuk leaving the ice during the last shift. I see no report about his health... but until I do, I will worry.

Joking, no doubt he wouldn't show up hung over. But I will say again, he's a fan of The Goalie, and will do what elite goalies do -- own this, say it was his own fault, and vow to do better. And then, he will.

with the exception of one (Ottawa Feb 20), the rest of the games in February are on some version of smelly NBC. We're being punished.

I am pretty convinced that Petr is Dom Jr. If he's watched the master in goal, he will bounce back from this and be a holy terror the next few outings. Learn and change and get better... he will.
