i really think holland plans to trade for a tbl dman.

we trading for one of stevey's dmen now? I thought they had plenty. I could see holland and stevie working something out.

my exact thoughts. but i think we need a dman more than a fwd at this point.

i bet howson will be a complete f*ck and demand smith in a package or no trade. wants to make it hurt us to acquire nash.

holland isn't a sucker. if he was gonna handicap the team he would have overspent on parise and suter

has kenny put an offer in on semin yet? will we know when it happens?

I'd trade that for only Yandle or Enstrom. Not JBow.

Fil is only 3 years younger than Z. he's not a huge long term solution. he's a stop gap after datsyuk retires...

Lol at that assessment. Phx may lose doan, Franzen is a valuable piece despite his age and his cap hit is very good. He scores 25 goals a season and would replace doan's production. Cleary is a heart and soul player that is usually good for 20+ goals and great intangibles. Kindl hasn't been given a proper shot at the nhl level yet. Jurco is extremely valuable and so is a 1st round pick (likely lower). The coyotes have plenty on defence with OEL and upcoming Gormley, Rundbland, Summers and already has a nice to 6. They need some forwards to put the puck in the net.

best part of these new upgrades is we can't see crymson's annoying avatar anymore.

I'd say the next move would be to sign Semin and trade for a top pairing Dman. Holland couldn't completely kill the team for next year. If we spent like the Wild we couldn't afford to re-up smith and nyquist and fil and howard next season. The wild will have a hard time when their "top" prospects start needing a pay check and they have little room.

I'm not opposed to this at all. Kenny is gonna have to work on some projects at this point.

Franzen, Cleary, Kindl, Jurco, 1st and thats pushing it. Those forwards are older and i doubt Phx would part with Yandle for anything less than Fil+

who did you trade for those players? looks impossible unless you gave every prospect away and all of next years draft

Following that sad but true logic, we won't see Z or Dats lift another cup until we tank and draft some high end talent.

Thats kinda what we were saying at the beginning of last year... hopefully the UFAs show up. We need to give them more reason to i think.

Franzen is 33 this year and has only scored 30+ goals once in his career. He has a good 2-3 years left of production before he is another "old guy" on our team with value only to the wings. we need to milk this cow in a trade before we can't anymore. Look how Philly flipped Carter and Richards four even younger and talented players. This is why we keep getting older and worse while other teams get younger and better. girardi is going nowhere. he is the only dman on NYR that is top 4 with a RH shot. He logs major minutes and many argue he is better than McD.

k cool, lets get old and let our players lose what value they have left.

I think we have to thin out our forwards and trade for some quality Dmen. We can sign Semin and Mueller to replace some forward depth in the long run. We also have Tatar in the wings with Jarnkrok being ready next season hopefully. Here's what I'd do: Franzen, Cleary, Kindl, 2nd for Mike Green (RFA) Filppula, White, 1st for Keith Yandle Then our D looks like: Yandle - Green Kronwall - Ericsson Smith - Quincey Not bad and you could even put Carle in for Quincey if you like. Thats a good young D corps that is one Shea Weber away from being the best in the league.

we HAVE to sign Semin at this point so we can trade some of our other pieces. Franzen and Fil are the only thing of value other than our young guys nyquist and smith. leaves colorado shallow in the top 2 centre department with only matty d.
