Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
dirtydangles replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
OHHHHH the way I read it I had Parise walking by Babs in an airport. This makes more sense. So babs in in Minny either hoping to entice Parise/Suter or announce something perhaps. Cool. -

What doe that even mean? I'm really not understanding this scenario... so babs was in the airport and parise was too and just walked by him? does that prove anything? -
Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.

Damn hudler is gone... -

I wouldn't mind holding onto 5+ mill for this season. We could take a run at Weber next season and save our pennies for our own UFA/RFAs. -

Not necessarily. If we have a top 6 guy coming in for free then we can afford to trade Fil and Franzen for Ryan + and get younger at the same time. That replaces Fil, Franzen with Parise, Ryan. -
Eaves and Cleary would clear 4 mill. Emmerton gone would be 4.5millish.

ME TOO lol. but i could see holland doing it... he doesn't have the stones to make a big trade nowadays. -
Ryan won't be moved for anything less than a No2 centre+. Why move a RW for an older RW? I would prefer Franzen gone too but it won't happen. I'd say Fil + Kindl + 2nd,4th would be enough value to get Ryan. Then I'd go and sign Mueller at less than 3mill or Semin at 6mill.

With just Suter we look okay... CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER My Custom Lineup FORWARDS Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Damien Brunner ($1.350m) Danny Cleary ($2.800m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Mikael Samuelsson ($3.000m) Jordin Tootoo ($1.900m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Jan Mursak ($0.550m) / Drew Miller ($0.838m) / DEFENSEMEN Ryan Suter ($7.500m) / Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) / Ian White ($2.875m) Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Kyle Quincey ($3.250m) Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) Jonas Gustavsson ($1.500m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $70,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $63,583,712; BONUSES: $462,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $6,616,288 Preferably we would sign Semin and Trade for a top end forward (Nash/Ryan). But I'm preparing myself to see this. -
Questions: 1) Would the price be higher for Ryan or Nash? 2) Consider Ryan can play centre, does this make fil more expendable?

Regardless of if we get parise somebody is gerting traded in a package... We have too many third/4th liners -

I think suter wants to see if parise signs with a team that can afford both, then he may follow. Otherwise he will go to the best fit for him straight up without parise. -
signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
dirtydangles replied to Matt's topic in General
Would have rather had mueller at a lower cap hit. -

Cleary is better than Sammy imo and younger. I'd rather have neither next season and upgrade but thats not gonna happen -
Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
dirtydangles replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
EXACTLY why I don't like the Sammy, Tootoo signings. These guys are secondary and won't win you cups as main cast. It would be a **** move but if push comes to shove I'd think this would be a case where Tootoo could be traded away to make cap space. Sammy's NTC will screw us just like bert for the next 2 years. Last thing we needed was Sammy and Bert on the third line. Cleary gone next season likely might as well trade him now. -
signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
dirtydangles replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Ya, I don't like Tootoo, especially at 1.9mill. Eaves makes less than this. He ISN'T a good hockey player and is a goon that lives over the line. Not a "wings guy" imo. I don't see him becoming a loved guy in the locker room either. Waste of cap space. This would be one instance where if I were Kenny and had to move a player before the deadline for cap space, I'd trade a recently acquired player. -
who's on the outs if we sign multiple forwards?
dirtydangles replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I can see holland saving some cap space for weber next offseason and going with something like this: CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER My Custom Lineup FORWARDS Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Bobby Ryan ($5.100m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Damien Brunner ($1.350m) Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Mikael Samuelsson ($3.000m) Jordin Tootoo ($1.900m) / Justin Abdelkader ($0.866m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Drew Miller ($0.838m) / Jan Mursak ($0.550m) / DEFENSEMEN Ryan Suter ($7.500m) / Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) / Ian White ($2.875m) Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Kyle Quincey ($3.250m) Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) Jonas Gustavsson ($1.500m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $70,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $62,795,417; BONUSES: $462,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $7,404,583 This allows Holland to re-sign our guys next offseason as well as move for Weber hard. I just don't think we need Semin when we consider the guys Holland already brought in. I think a deal can be made for Ryan around Franzen, Cleary, Jurco, 1st. I'd hate to see Fil go but he may have to substitute for Franzen in the deal. Ryan wants out and his price may be lowered to something we can afford. Nash is too much imo. -
franzen now has a lower cap hit than hudler. lol

Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
dirtydangles replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
So is parise really choosing between 2 teams? if so which ones? The thread title seems misleading otherwise... -
Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
dirtydangles replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
starting to think we should just do Semin+Ryan. We have the pieces to land Ryan who is younger and has a high ceiling. I also think that we should start giving Semin the attention he deserves before he goes to a bottom feeder that went all in. Then we are left with nothing but Sammy and Tootoo.... -
Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
dirtydangles replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
Damn... felt that I'd be disappointed though... this is the miami heat all over again. Parise will never wear a letter in Pittsburgh considering Crosby, Malkin and Letang are around and younger... -
Considering Franzen's cap hit is so low as the prices rise (Hudler may have the same cap hit this year) I don't think his contract is all that negative in a trade. The length is a concern but that cap hit looks lower every day.

signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
dirtydangles replied to Matt's topic in General
I was trying to work something on Capgeek and we have too many players ESPECIALLY on wings. With Brunner, Franzen, Sammy, Eaves, Mursak. And consider Nyquist, Fil, Cleary, Bert, Miller, Tootoo on left wing. We HAVE to be trading someone. I feel like Franzen, Cleary, Nyquist could be out and Ryan or Nash coming back.
