Those are good points unless his wife disagrees that they'd be better off staying. Then it would flip.. I really just think Babcock is torn and doesn't really know what he'd rather do. So being permitted to talk to other organizations could help sway him to start a new job elsewhere or make him realize it's better here than anywhere available. It's kind of a toss up. But I'm sure we'll know in the next week or so.. -

Most of the third period looked like a capitals power play.. if they can come out with 60 minutes of that intense of an effort, no doubt in my mind they'll win. -
Count me in on the Meloche band wagon. I've heard very little about draft prospects but he sounds like he has potential to be a solid defenseman.. unless someone better happens to drop to us. But really, seeing that it's a deep draft class, I fully expect Holland to trade down.. so hopefully Meloche drops a little too..?

19 years old, 6'2" 198 lbs, center, left handed. Played in the whl for four years. Was the assistant captain of his team last year posting 18 goals and 25 assists in 67 games. Touchè. I'll admit, I don't pay that close of attention to the preds but I just figured his chippiness probably helped some. Forgot they gave up hornquist in that deal for a second.

I feel like he wants to win a couple more cups before he's done.. the only team I'm really worried about Babcock leaving for is st louis. They definitely have the talent he'd like to coach especially on defense. Or, if more of a location thing in regard to Babcocks comments about his wife having a say in it, I could see san jose being a threat to take him. I don't think any of the other vacancies make any sense for him. (oilers, leafs, buffalo, Philly... Are there more?) -

Possibly wants to see exactly what his services are worth..? I imagine he knows every team with a vacancy would be interested in him as coach.... -
I agree with this 100%. Not that u of m has a bad coach or anything but I think he'll develop faster in the ahl, playing against tougher competition. I think he should spend all of next season in grand rapids and then he'll start the following season there and perhaps be one of the first call ups that season, assuming his development goes well.

Part of me can't help but wonder where the wings would be at if they had signed here *sigh* oh well.. -
Maybe little Bert purposely underperformed just enough to go a few rounds into the draft so the wings would get him.. and uncle Todd just let the wings know of the master plan. Then he started playing toward his potential after being drafted

JVR is one player I've wanted to have for a while now. I just don't see Holland giving up the necessary players to get him though. He's only 26 too and could easily be a part of their rebuild unless he requests a trade out of that gong show. But I haven't heard anything even hinting at him being unhappy there unfortunately.

Maybe Toronto is trying to use their 4th pick and the canes 5th to trade up to #2..?? I doubt this deal even goes down but having #4 & 5 in such a deep draft could work wonders for their rebuild Or I wonder if they have pieces that could add to those two picks and land McDavid.. that'd probably cost too much though.
