Sounds like he'll go perfectly on a line with AA

It would take quite a bit to get it done and I'd rather focus on trading assets for a more established player, but I'd love to see Nichushkin in the winged wheel. He's very entertaining to watch (the few times I've seen him) and has a very high ceiling. I'd think in addition to a roster d man, it'd take a couple prospects Nill was high on when he was here, maybe a pick as well.. Not sure who that'd be but it seems like more of an off season deal to me.

They have changed the percentages. Also, starting this year, they're raffling off the top three picks. I hope Toronto gets last and still has to pick fourth.. Serves them right. The problem in Edmonton, imo, is that they still sell out games all the time. If they're still making money, there is less pressure to be good. Combine that with always drafting the same type of player and that's what you get. I do hope they start wising up and making some trades to get better, I like them, but time will tell..

Why did we not trade helm to Columbus right before the penalty started? Dammit holland! -

Hung over? He's allowed to drink there -
If I'm holland, I try to talk Quincey into taking a discount to stay for another 2-3 years and have a backup plan in place in case he wants to walk in the off season. I don't know what said backup plan could be.... there are rumors or speculation that Calgary could be interested in Howard. Maybe we could snag one of their D men if Quincey leaves or something like that. What do you all think Q could get on the open market if he's going strictly for whoever pays the most?

GDT 2/15 GDT : Detroit Red Wings at New York Islanders, 1:00PM EST
amato replied to NerveDamage's topic in General
hate the start time but love the GDT and those lines! stand tall Jimmy! LGW! Hopefully we can continue some of that offensive pressure from yesterday. -
Hard pass. And with maltby, draper, AND holland reportedly at a CBJ game, I highly doubt Tyutin is the only player they were scouting.
-
And possibly in the way of making the playoffs this year. Let's just hope Montreal doesn't win the lottery ha

I don't go downtown a ton but in my experience, most of the bars have been good. Nemos is one of the few I've had food at.... Great burgers there. (1384 Michigan Ave) But if you're looking for the best food, my suggestion would be slows bbq. (2138 Michigan Ave) Obviously there are plenty more to choose from.. Hope you have a great time! Can also second that greektown is a good area for drinks and food.

Time to make Phaneuf look bad! Let's see a D-Boss err Larkin hatty, all beating Phaneuf 1 on 1. LGW! (I know I've called for the Larkin hatty before but this time I really mean it) wings win 5-0. dylark x3, tatar, nyq -
More allstar goals than crosby.

I am starting to notice that trend. I'd go as far to say that most hockey players seem to be pretty nice guys.. And definitely agree that the bigger a-holes seem to be the bigger stars. And Toby, they try to do the IP address thing already i think.. I'm pretty sure you only get five ish votes per day or something. There are ways around it in which people exploit to stuff ballots, yes. In all likelihood, the nhl will just have a predetermined ballot for captains of 100-150ish players or so. It was a really cool experience having John Scott there though.. Now just trade him back to Arizona please. (If he even wants to go back after that nonsense)
-
What a great read. And what a great guy. I'll be the first to admit, I've never expected an enforcer to turn out to be such a nice guy.. but I love everything that the John Scott saga has become. also, Go Huskies.

Yzerman Reportedly Playing in Alumni Game Against Colorado
amato replied to vladdy16's topic in General
I'm a little surprised but oh so stoked! Way more excited for the alumni game than the actual one! -
Good news is, he's been back in the game.. Not sure for how long.

At the Griffins game and 1. These fan designed jerseys are awesome, & 2. Frk took a nasty slash or something to his wrist.. Skated off immediately. If anyone has any update, please share

Abby recently wrote a player's tribune article about what it was like scoring the national championship winning goal in college; figured I'd share. Pretty good article from the Player's Tribune, as always. Enjoy http://www.theplayerstribune.com/justin-abdelkader-college-hockey-red-wings/

was going to like it until that last part ehh screw it, I give him mad props too. but, Go Green

I go to games from time to time and there are a lot of good options around the arena. Personally, I like Stella's. It's an arcade bar that serves some pretty great stuffed burgers ( http://www.stellasgr.com/ ) Definitely check out the Founders Brewery too ( foundersbrewing.com ) There are a lot more good places in downtown Grand Rapids, but those are my two personal favorites. It's a pretty clean city too, I've never felt unsafe walking around down there.. have fun!
