" I am so upset at the lack of hockey that when it comes back I will ignore it. " It's anger, not logic. Do not miss the Winter Classic. Do not get swept up in the idealism, if not for the team, do it for the city.

Pretty sure they know how much money they are losing, hasn't stopped them yet.

It is called a joke. No sympathy, because you had none to start with. You also added the word new. This is a round about stab at the players, as if given the opportunity to play they would lockout the owners. The owners locked out the players from making the money they agreed to pay them. If you wanna knock Tootoo, do it over the bears atleast that shows you care about something other than your longing to watch NHL hockey. Think I need another month off. EDIT: Hey, try and have some sympathy for the charities and donations that Tootoo supports with that undeserved money.

Did not say this earlier because this looks like the op is just bitter about Nashville beating us. But since it has made it to page two, 25,000 polar bears vs 50,000 Inuits If only the "civilized" world had sanctions in place to protect the people who lived here before we came and took their lands. Seriously, the only reason our country is in a place where they can look down on people because of what they eat, is because they had no morals or conscience when it came to slaughtering and enslaving people they perceived as inferior. Try to remember that these are human beings like you and I and that their society has been around for over a thousand years, they have always been an arctic, maritime people. Polar bear meat is one of the reasons they survived to today and I don't think anyone has the right to tell them they are wrong for it, they did not overfarm bears in 1000 years and polar bears did not get to their endangered status from natives, but from the same expansion that endangered the natives.

Caring about the fans does not mean capitulating to the other side. I would hope they love the game more than it's fans. This deal also will affect hundreds of players not even in the league yet, there are more things to consider than "will fan X have something to do after work tonight?" I want hockey back also, but in no way am I pretending I am the victim here. The simple fact: The OWNERS locked out the PLAYERS, because the OWNERS saw a opportunity to take back guaranteed contract money and use it to subsidize teams in non-traditional markets. I sign contracts with people all the time, never has anyone ever suggested that I take less money and do the same amount of work. I don't know why people feel entitled to these players, they don't owe you anything, they owe their family for all the time they are gone and cutting their household income by 1/4 doesn't fly. If Mario had to give back 1/4 of his money back in the day then there might not be a Penguins team today. Yet now he has the balls to demand that of the people he inspired to join this profession. Bottom Line: The league is not losing money, it is earning a profit. Some teams are winning, others losing. The heaviest contributing factor to the losing of said teams is that they don't have a big enough fan base in their non-traditional market. Taking money from the players allows owners to operate the flawed system longer, but does nothing to fix the problem. If there is no problems then what will they point to next time they feel like changing all the rules because their team can not win the cup.

RUMOR: Wings have made an offer to Carlo Colaiacovo
Wingzman91 replied to chances14's topic in General
It is listed on TSN under transactions. EDIT: also listed on Wikipedia. -
Scott Hannan has signed with the Nashville Predators, 1 year for 1 million. One less option on the board.

The biggest surprise to me will be if the CBA is done in time to prevent another lockout, partial or otherwise.

I got this also today, a lottery for 125 prizes, the chance to buy (2) alumni game tickets, as a solo, i'll be the first to offer up my extra ticket if I win.

Holland losing his moxie? Is Detroit slipping as UFA destination?
Wingzman91 replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
This is how delusional opposing teams fans are, why every team thinks they are the rival of Detroit. Detroit finds a way to win. That is what burns you up. Detroit will always be appealing to it's fans, good luck convincing them otherwise, sounds like a good use of your time. -
I vote yes and I am biased.

So much for the "You Can Play" project.

Last year : Conner was .37 ppg in 8 games in the NHL, .93 ppg in 57 games in the AHL. Brunno was .2 ppg in 5 games in the NHL, .77 ppg in 45 games in the AHL. Conner was +2 with 0 pim (22 AHL), Brunnstrom was -2 with 4 pim (41 AHL). I'd take Conner over Brunnstrom, but wish them both the best.
-
Dear Lord, Please allow the millionaires on both sides to get what they want so I can attend the 3 games this year I can afford.
-
I also want to take this time to blame every other GM beside Lombardi for not winning the cup. You all know what you didn't do to make your teams better, how dare you all. Holland is an easy target for everyone who thinks the glass is half empty, no amount of trades and free agents will guarantee your team a cup and to blame the GM for a perceived lack of moves is ignorant. " Damn you Kenny! Why didn't you go back in time and move the Suters and Parises to Detroit before they where born! " There is absolutely nothing better any of you could have done. Period.

Reports out of Russia are that if someone adds a foreign country to the rumor it gains credibility.

Just go follow Minnesota or whatever team you think is doing better than us than, everyone is sick of these stupid f@#$ing posts.

Signed Red Wings Sign G Jonas Gustavsson to 2-year deal, $1.5M/yr
Wingzman91 replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Keep on going!!! Monster will be big for us. -
Yes, can we please send White off and sign a untested rookie to play in his position. The worst crap I have read in a month of speculation.
-
Stuart is making less money with a open, tradeable contract. SJ already traded him once and I'd bet they would do it again. Ultimately, it will be Stuart having to look these guys in the eyes when it is handshake time at the end of a series.

Bitter.

Update:: Who has the better fans? Nashville Predators or Detroit Red Wings? Detroit. 51.05% (2,883 votes) Nashville. 48.95% (2,764 votes) Keep voting!!
-
Whichever team has the most votes by 7 p.m. on Tuesday wins. The losing team has to congratulate the winner on their Facebook page. So let's go, Red Wings fans! Let's show Nashville why Detroit is hockeytown! Thank you for voting! Detroit. 49.56% (2,678 votes) Nashville. 50.44% (2,726 votes)

Schneider is going to suck as a starter, does anyone remember that he has only become good playing for what could be a top 3 team in the league the last few years. Can't wait to see CLB get him and do worse than they are.
