Holland had an interview out of prospect camp quoting him saying that he did his best to grab suter. When he first contacted their agents they both said they didnt need to play together. Holland went after suter for our needs and straight up said the truth, " you cant have 4-6 11,12,13 yr contracts. And its the truth, you handcuff yourself. So with holland hearing that they werent a package deal and going after what we needed what else did you want him to do? The man tried, some of you act like he straight up hung up and said f you to both of them. He also stated that the babcock and zetterberg thing is fine. The players dont dispise babcock and that wasnt an influence in them not coming.

Brunnstrom Update - Expects to sign new 1-yr 2-way deal
evilzyme replied to Din758's topic in General
He has a great attitude and I like his thinking process when it comes to the club. He knows what happened last year and he plans on not allowing it to happen again. Now to have a great summer and come out swinging early at training camp. Show em what you got kid. -
Regardless of overpayment this hurts...

Hey-yoooooooooo, watch him throw a 70 pt season like its cool now.
-
He did outstanding for us the previous season until he got injured. Unfortunately for him, inconsistent play and injuries will burden his trade. As much as I'd love for him to be backing up Howie still and saving the money, he is too much of a risk.

who's on the outs if we sign multiple forwards?
evilzyme replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I can only see Nyquist getting moved only if it directly results in Nash coming over to Detroit. I still don't see the organization moving one of their best forward prospects in the pipeline. Especially without seeing how his strength has come over the summer and what not. In reality, I can see emmerton being moved because theres no chance he'll pass through waivers. We know Hudler is gone but right now how much direct value can we get out of him since teams know we're at a stand still right now. I think firstly, all will depend on the Parise signing. If we don't get Parise, or sense we don't have a chance we will be moving on and we'll see pieces gone. Currently, Holland said he isn't doing anymore moves until Parise and Suter make a decision because he wants the space for both if they do so want to come to Detroit. Prospect wise: Tartar, Mursak and Emmerton I can see gone. -

Awesome!!! Hope he takes full advantage of this opportunity. Lots of potential and seems like the staff is willing to give him a full out shot to showcase it -

Sidney Crosby signs 12-year, $104.4M Contract, $8.7M/yr
evilzyme replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Exactly, unless you're better than Sidney Crosby and noone can legitimately say that with a straight face to their gm you aren't making past him. He wanted to take a paycut inorder to bring the best for their organization. Can't hate on that as much as i hate the kid. And yes, its a paycut in terms of his skill. Plenty of gms would easily pay him max and he would rate it. Hopefully he can stay healthy. -
I wouldn't even want to dream of taking that contract over. Holland get it out of your mind. Right now. Actually, don't even let it be seeded into your head.

Is jake still playing for MSU? Wearing #42 swearing it has nothing to do with his dad
-
Thats where it gets messy. Sid the Kid said he's willing to lower his contract and only take a 550,000 raise inorder for them to build a championship team around him. He's willing to take the paycut inorder to win. Parise will not make more than Crosby.

Parise to Washington
-
Word from draft is Parise is going to Pittsburgh and suter is coming to Detroit. I think that is how its going to end. I knew we werent getting Parise for a bit now but didn't see him going to pitts. If its between that and him re-signing i hope lou gets it done today. I know they were sitting with parise today with contract talks. Pittsburgh doesnt even need to push for Parise though, offense is the last of their priority. In reality they should be balls to the wall after suter with us.

Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans
evilzyme replied to evilzyme's topic in General
I think babs will throw nyquist back to the 3rd line unless during training camp he shows some strength and size difference. I imagine nyquist on 3rd while brunner most likely takes huds spot on the 2nd. I know brunner isnt a huge sized guy but ive heard from numerous watchers of his and they all say he will hold his own against sized players. Kids got some strength on the puck apparently.- 139 replies

Alot of people need to realize how effective abby is when playing on the wing instead of centering. His role changed and he cant play his style, he was playing the role the coach gave him. As much as i've had my share with abby, hes a player i wouldnt want to straight trade away

Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans
evilzyme replied to evilzyme's topic in General
Boys, this is pretty damn big. Not just because of signing and having the potential but it seems theyre ready to pull the trigger on some moves. The way babs talked and convinced kenny holland to legitimately let him take a swiss-a player with no professional, junior, chl, experience and straight make the top 6. What? Jesus way to look at this as the biggest debbie downer. The organization is striving to make changes in their biggest offseason of recent times. My bad bro, i need to get kenny holland on speed dial to tell him know that unless we get bobby ryan, zach parise, ryan suter, and rick nash hes failed and "shored" the top 6. Righto.- 139 replies

I'll be surprised if Yakupov goes any further than 3rd. I just can't see trades not being made immediately if he doesn't go 1st. Gonna be a messy night boys.

I believe he's saying exactly that. Red Wings draft picks can hold their own thread, because they should be discussed privately and in their own way. The draft in general, can be talked about with this thread, as it is a general thread. Inwhich all talk regarding the draft, picks, etc will be discussed here.
