Epic all-star moment I'd like to see now that Larkin has the fastest skater record - Phil Kessel is skating with the puck in the O-zone, Larkin strips him of the puck, goes back on a breakaway and buries it. Brent "Chewy" Burns is mic' d up - "He just did the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs!"

Looking forward to seeing if you can outdo the epic comic book GDT, Gord!

Thanks for posting the vid, Nerve. Watching it again, I definitely think he meant to do that.

I have to say the extension of his arms after the hit, coupled by his avoiding of the player, and there being no following of the concussion protocol are definitely factors that make me think it was intentional. If he was "woozy" then the lack of following the concussion protocol is another big, but separate, issue. That linesman had no idea he was going to be hit, and no expectation of being hit. While I may have a less than favorable opinion of certain officials, I would hate to see anyone, even Halloran, blindsided like that. Yes, I know I have spewed venom at Halloran in some GDT's (blown calls of a chronic nature will get me going since I loathe incompetence or bias). The league has to suspend Wideman otherwise it could become open season on officials. The suspension rule is there for a reason. They need to protect their officials. There are other ways to handle anger with the officials. I remember Chelios towards the end of his career sending a slapshot towards a ref... Nowhere near actually hitting him, but enough to get his point across. I thought that was about as far as it should ever go. When the Wideman hit was on THN at first, there was also a vid of Lucic punching at a player and catching the linesman in the face. I would not be surprised if that was "accidentally on purpose" by Lucic based on his dirty play in the past. I think the optics of the Wideman hit overshadowed this incident in a big way. Does anyone know how the linesman who was hit is doing? I thought I had read somewhere he was having post concussion symptoms.

Agreed, Jimmy. He was just trying to make the best of a situation he didn't seek, then just accepted and embraced it and the league goes bush-league. Reading what the NHL was saying trying to get him to bow out, that crosses a serious line, IMHO. I hope he has a hell of a time at the game.

How many drams did that one make you drink? Too funny, F. Michael.

I meant "whiz" as in pee. . That story from the spider's point of view would be hysterical though.

Chappelle was a talented comic, for sure. I always enjoyed his stuff. A bit late, but Trent Reznor is one talented dude. He wasn't a super technical virtuoso, but the guy was a great songwriter and arranger. Speaking of musicians, is anyone else planning on getting the new Dream Theater concept album that dropped today?

Tsaven was a real whiz kid at building PC's, that's for sure.

The goalie should have busted out the surrender cobra. Obviously, the one he scored on, not his teammate. It was an amusing celebration. The old school WWF fan in me (pre WWE, screw Ranger Rick and the World Wildlife Federation) would have found the D-Generation X chops funny, but over the top.

Lol. Too bad it wasn't Halloran he got.

Jagr did go on Twitter asking fans to not vote for him. BTW, whoever posted the players tribune link about John Scott, great job. That site has some nice reads.

I am ok with the suspensions since they did it to Datsyuk and Lidstrom. It is still a stupid rule, but if they did it to the Wings, then others should deal with it as well.

Yep, part of the reason I mentioned e what if.

From Kevin Allen's column at USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2016/01/26/all-star-game-first-half-analysis-second-half-expectations/79272740/

Did Luke use the Force to get there in time?

Nice hustle by Glendening and Helm to get the dagger.

It's Halloran. He has had it out for the Wings for ages. I wonder if anyone has stats on the Wings record in games he has officiated over the years. -

Hank protects himself and they call it. Wow, just wow. And they score. Good move by Kesler, but Howard has to have that. -

Hopefully the PP converts. I really don't want to see douchenozzle Perry get a GWG against our boys. Larkin tripped no call. f*** these refs. Looks like Larkin got cut too.
