While the record since March has been less than stellar, to put it politely, maintaining the streak is downright impressive. I'm 43 so I also remember the non-streak era. Here's hoping the outbreak of cranial-rectal implant syndrome that has haunted the team recently is cleared up for the playoffs. If they are healthy and focused for a full 60 minutes each night, I think they have a legitimate chance against anyone. In any case, let's enjoy the ride. Let's Go Wings!

I will have the iPad on during chorale rehearsal tonight (I'm hoping I don't have to cover the piano so I can keep the feed going - a benefit of mastering Solfege and sight singing when they have a rehearsal during the playoff drive). Here's hoping for a decisive win to send a message and Tatar gets to 30. Maybe the injury to Cole will be a rallying point - seemed like the guys liked him as soon as he came over. I just hope the refs don't make a bunch of ticky tack calls, and if the Canadiens start the diving act that they a) don't fall for it and b) call the dives.

Just got an Xbox one last weekend, gamer tag is still The Xym. I have CoD:AW and Ghosts if anybody wants to do Zombies or Extinction; The Crew, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Is it worth getting NHl15 if I already have it on the 360, or should I wait until NHL 16 (which is my gut feeling). I also have the Master Chief Collection. I'm happy for Hudler. I concur that a lot of his production is due to being on Calgary's top line, but if he was the other winger on a line with Hank and Pavel I think he could have lit it up as well.

I will say this regarding the MSU-UM bit - my super senior year of college (due to zero overlap from a change in major from Physics to Music Ed) when the Blue Band came to the Michigan game in Ann Arbor, the Michigan fans were very gracious to us - as we marched out of the stadium several came up to us and said "You just beat the best, now go win the Rose Bowl for the Big Ten." After the game, by he bus, my Probert jersey got some nice comments, and I had a few great chats. The day before at our practice, several folks from the old listserv that David Vergolini ran out of MSU stopped by to meet me (the trumpet player in the Yzerman jersey). Fred Rubarth and Cris Cataldo, wherever you are, I raise my glass and drink a dram of The Macallan in remembrance of a good evening at that sports bar, and also to anyone else I met that day in 1994 who is out there in Wings fandom. When the MSU fans came to Penn State, the ones I met tailgating after the game were cool as hell. That said, this move by Tampa Bay is bush league. Hopefully the Wings fans still find a way in, and numerous octopi hit the ice during a first round Detroit upset in their arena, during a deciding Game 5.

I'm visiting my parents, but I set the TV on a timer - hopefully letting my rabbit watch the game is good luck (holding him and petting him during the entire OT and shootout yesterday worked). Jimmy probably feels like the weight of a piano was lifted off his back. He looked rather confident on the first shooter, which was a difference, IMHO. The two goals seemed to rattle him, but Vanek had a heck of a move with waving the stick over top, then after the crossbar helped him he seemed to lock it down again. In any case, we held serve against the Bruins and Sens. I believe we still have a game in hand, so the boys control their own destiny in any case. Even if they drop the extra game, they still do.

Seems like it. My dog will sprawl on the couch with me but won't watch the tv. Easter actually watched the game, and would actually grunt back (it sounded like "malp") when I'd say what happened. Yeah, I probably like my rabbit a bit too much. (We didn't name him, my wife's brother's fiancée did. We rescued him from her about four years ago - she'd kept him in a cage in the basement for four years and rarely let him out). My first rabbit, Lepus, used to watch the games too, come to think of it, even if he was in his cage.

Big ups to Jimmy for locking it down in the sudden death. I decided to see if my rabbit would be good luck, so I held him and petted him the whole time. Guess the bunny is joining me on the couch for the rest of the season.

Tatar and Nyquist on the third line does create a mismatch, and one that just may get both of them going again. If they draw better d-men, it's easier for Hank and Pavel to rack up the points. I always liked the chemistry of Sheahan-Tatar-Nyquist.

Thanks. Went out with my wife and daughter after I played a church service, and just got back a short while ago. The look on my daughter's face when I surprised her with the camera she's been wanting for quite some time (a Sony Alpha 6000) was priceless (she dropped to her knees in the middle of Best Buy crying tears of joy, then gave me the biggest hug she's given me in years. Even if the boys blow this game, I'm still in a great mood. I did set the DVR though, so I can go back if needed.

But Jason Williams sucks most of all.
