I'm confused as to why they totally over think this stuff. West has one less team. Seattle make up for that. They clearly should be in the Pacific. Take the eastern most team in the Pacific now and move them to the central. Is it really that hard?

If there was a poll up right now for the first half MVP ( for the Wings ) and Jimmy Howard doesn't get at least 97% of the votes I must be watching a totally different sport. That guy has been above the rim good this year. He's been so good they don't even think about putting Mrazek in net.

Why would it be so hard to just make the 4th line Abby - Helm - Booth. Abby and Helm would get some extra time on the PP and PK like normal. Move AA and Frk up and let these guys play.

26 years as a fan and I wouldn't trade the 4 cups for anything. So many cool memories as a fan. Great players, great games, great fans. . If you've been a Red Wings fan long enough you've been spoiled by a very classy and successful franchise. Good things all have to come to an end and it's a totally different perspective and I look forward to the years ahead even if some of them are pretty lean. Cheers to another cycle of 25+ years.

It's the job of those both guys to score goals. Stop making excuses for them. I like for the most part how Larkin has played this year but he needs to put the puck in the net. I really think something was on the verge with Blashill but then we went and won that Winnipeg game and that earned him at least another 15 games of equity. Sad.

Exactly. Let it ride. Don't sign Mrazek. Develop or sign a goalie and move on from Howard after next year.. This organization is in need of a total culture change. Mrazek's fundamentals are so bad he can have all the talent in the world and it won't matter. He over plays his angles all the time. He's just not that good of a goalie at this point of his career.

Agreed. This team will hover around .500 and if we want to make the playoffs we will have to go on a run in the 2nd half that I'm not sure we are capable of. If we want a legitimate shot at landing some free agents we need to find a way to unload salary. I like Green but that 6 milly has to come off the books. Mrazek won't be back next year at this point. Thats another 4 milly. Problem is that 10 million will go to signing Larkin, Mantha and AA. We need teams desperate at the trade deadline willing to trade for veteran guys like Ericcson. and take some of these garbage salaries. If not we are in purgatory for a few years.
