I believe that's 2 on the ice so far today. Nice work Wings fans. Anytime now a PETA protester will be hanging from the rafters of the Joe protesting and holding up the game. -

Pens in 5, they are just better except in goal. -

I hope about 50 get thrown on the ice. What are they going to do ? Give us a bench minor? Who cares at this point. -

Out dated? People throw them on the ice every game pretty much. How does that make it out dated. ? -
Do you laugh at your own jokes?

All it proves is that we as fans over value players, people get angry when Holland trades someone away but it's clear by these number that hardly anyone has panned out anywhere else.

Should any of #91, #13, #40, #30 be retired? Poll/Discussion

This isn't just sour grapes but I have no idea how they can win a series with that D. -

The Leafs are going to end up kicking themselves for not shoring up the D at the deadline. They are terrible...problem is ours is worse. -
Here is a link to a great article about him. http://www.macleans.ca/sports/a-best-friend-remembers-gordie-howe/

Got in Thursday. Stayed at the Motor City Casino. Friday morning we went to Felix Gatt's house. Not sure if you know the story but he was Howe's best friend. He has the most amazing collection of memorabilia that I've ever seen. 500-600 square foot basement packed floor to ceiling with signed pictures, jersey's, skates, gloves etc...you name it he's got it. It was amazing. The most down to earth guy too. Friday went to the game. Drove back to my buddy's home in Woodstock Ontario . Saturday like any respectable group of middle aged goofballs would do we decided to road trip it up the highway to Buffalo to watch the Leafs - Sabres game. Back to my buddy's house in Woodstock Ontario for the night. Back to the Joe Sunday for the game, another stay at the Motor City Casino on Sunday night and took the long trip home on Monday. Pushed the limits of what my 38 year old body can handle haha.

So many parts of the Joe that seem so old school ( obviously because they are ). We were in the Olympia Club in the Manhattan room and literally 15 feet from our table the Wings were seperated by a curtain loading up on their post game buffet meal. On Friday it was super hot ( 21 degrees celsius ) when we went in and they had the door open on street level about 20 feet from the Wings dressing room and a couple guys were kicking a soccer ball around. I tried to be that guy and poke my head in for a picture but the security guard was aggressive. My point being what kind or arena now a days has an outside door 20 feet from the dressing room lol.

38 years old. I live in western Canada, been a Wings fan for 25 years and I finally got to the Joe for 2 games last weekend. Surreal experience from walking up the steps at the entrance to drinking in the Olympia club in the bowels of the Joe. Couldn't have been happier to step foot in the old place. The atmosphere was amazing even in a losing season. It sure is an old barn. Narrow concourse, 1000 degrees inside, lack of bathrooms but when that pucked dropped I knew I was in one helluva special place. That being said I can't wait to go back to Detroit and watch a game in Little Caesar's.

Sweat why? Why do I or anyone else on this forum care who wins the cup? If the Wings don't win it I could care less.

03/08 GDT : Detroit Red Wings vs Boston Bruins : 8:00 PM ET

Is my sarcasm radar off here? lol. You just compared a forward who scored 17 goals last year to a guy who has 11% health left on his knees combined and also plays D.......well this he attempts to play D. Or at least hang up the knees. -

I wish I could do the poop emoji on here 500 times. This organization is so afraid to change the culture. Fire the bloody coach, he's terrible. This team is embarassingly unprepared most nights.....oh and our players aren't very good. -

Blaming the refs is amateur hour type crap. Our fans now sound like the ones we made fun of for the last 25 years because they bitched about refs. Cmon people. Man up. This team is bad. The coach is bad. The gameplan is bad. We are not very good. -

Blaming the refs? This team is heap of garbage most nights. Reffing won't change that. Our coach never has this team prepared. We play good for stretches and then turn the puck over 5 times in 1 minute and the puck is in our net. -

1. 97 Cup 2. 98 Cup 3. 02 Cup 4. 08 Cup 5. 25 years of amazing hockey and the gift of cheering for a franchise with such great players, coaches and fans. -
I'm gonna predict he outplays this contract.

Tomas Jurco traded to Chicago for a 3rd rounder
puckbags replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
And what has he ever done that would even suggest that's a possibility? You make your chances, he was never good at any role on this team. He's just not that good. Classic case of a fan base over valuing a guy. -
That sir is a good point. Eaves turned into some mythical unicorn all of a sudden.

Tomas Jurco traded to Chicago for a 3rd rounder
puckbags replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
We are about a page deep in the trade thread, probably about half a page more than he deserves lol. The facts : - Jurco isn't very good - 0 points this year - 7 goals in his last 123 games - We got a decent pick for him - Bye Jurco -
Are you for real? There is nothing ever in his progression whether you think he got jobbed in Detroit or not that would lead you to believe he has a 30 point season in him.
