So, that really happened, Abdelkader DID get a 'trick? I thought I just had some really absurd dream last night and I had to come here to see if it was real.... But I know that Detroit getting three fighting majors by three different players in the same game wasn't real. It couldn't be.

Well, this is shocking news indeed... But seriously, you'd think Kenny, even in the private little world that he lives in, would know that his deadline quotes have become something of a joke with fans and at least come up with a few new lines.

Hey, I'd still take him. And I don't blame him for being a little pissed; the officiating has been a little iffy tonight, but at least it's been in our favor.

It may have been a while ago, and all of the participants are gone, but bad blood runs deep. I don't see Colorado dealing a young stud to us, at least not for cheap. Just like every good player that seems to be landing on the trading block these days, if he's dealt, it will probably be Eastward. But if they would take Nyguist and a 2nd rounder, then by all means. And I haven'd bailed on Nyguist, either. I still think he has potential ... but does Colorado?

Would have rather had Konopka or Prust. Better players and tougher.

So, this is what fans of bad teams feel like? I don't like it. I don't like it at ALL! Although I do vaguely remember some of the Detroit teams of the 80's ... but at least they had Kocur and Probert to keep the fans entertained. I hope that we are not actually this bad....

Tootoo vs Reaves? Well, that fight would be one-sided. But I do got Detroit with the "upset". After all, most of the "experts" have practically declared St. Louis the champs. That'll be the day.

Ovechkin staying in the KHL would be a big blow to the NHL. They have so few marketable personalities.

I hope there is a "no fighting" clause in his contract. I cringe whenever he drops the mitts. The boy needs to get some lessons from Joe Kocur -- fighting coach?

Does this mean that The Flyers now go after B. Ryan, maybe for no other reason than to match The Rangers? They wanted a defenseman, but I hear that they are also interested in Ryan.

We would of lost a guy who has never scored more than 66 points himself and who disappeared in the playoffs last year, and a player that at times has shown promise, but more often than not has just looked so-so. We improve by having an unstoppable 1st line, even if teams focus on them. The 2nd line?? Not so sure about them. I agree about the defense, but... And scoring a point for Columbus is like scoring two points for a good team. I'm not saying he would score 160 points in Detroit, but he would sure as hell put up more than 80. And Nash doesn't float, which would only make Datsyuk's job easier. But it's not going to happen, so it's a moot point.

You really have to watch Nash play more often. With Datsyuk as his center, he would score between 50 & 60 goals, no doubt about it. Hell, even Stamkos would have trouble scoring goals in Columbus.

If that was the offer, I don't blame Howson. Anything short of Filppula+Miller or Abdelkader+Nyguist, Tatar or Jurco(or maybe even two of them)+ draft pick(s) should be rejected if Howson wants to keep his job. He's in a tough spot. He needs to make this trade look good if he wants to keep his job.

I heard that Howson actually asked for Jeff Skinner from Carolina, so I don't know what we would have to offer, except much more than we could afford to give up, Best option right now is to sign Semin, who I hear NJ is also going after. Yandle, depending on what Phoenix asks for in return, could alleviate some of the pain of missing out on Suter. Then there is Weber... If Suter is worth 98 million, I can't imagine what Weber will demand next season??

I can't say how much blame, if any, Holland deserves in the case of Parise and Suter, but I do think he has let this team age badly. I always seem like I'm the only one who doesn't like his "over ripe" theory when it comes to prospects. Just because a prospect who sat in GR or over seas a little longer eventually turns into a success, doesn't mean they wouldn't of advanced quicker if they had been thrown right into the mix. I would of loved to have seen more of Tatar last season, and Smith in the playoffs. And don't even get me started on his anti-enforcer stance.

So what's the deal? Are we expecting to hear anything from Parise and Suter today, or can we just enjoy our 4th of July. Has either player said anything? I thought I heard that Suter would not announce 'till Friday?? What about Parise?

I don't know if they're a Cup contender even if they sign Parise and Suter. As for Semin, I actually think he's a better fit for this team, as well as a whole lot cheaper. I think we would be crazy to pay Parise the kind of money that I am hearing that some other teams have offered him. He scores goals, but he is not pure goal-scorer - and he looked like crap in the Finals! Semin isn't a pure goal-scorer, either, but he's a right-handed shot, and that is something this team can use. But we really need Suter.

Parise is becoming more annoying than Lebron.

Ok, I'm waiting for the "JUST KIDDING!" Where is it? WHERE IS IT??!!??!! And Tootoo, too? I hope Holland -whom I have NEVER liked- has some secret plan in the works.. Lord I hope so...

No. Just plain hate the guy. Dallas Drake was one thing, but Ott is on a whole 'nother level of sleaze.
