I don't think it matters what forwards we sign, Stamkos or not. With our D, I doubt we get pass the 1st round anytime soon. Until we fix our D, we will be watching game 80-82 to see if we are making the playoffs. Honestly, I think we were the worst team in the playoffs. The teams around us are only getting better. FLA, NYI, PHI, TB, WSH, PIT that's 6 teams in my opinion that look better off than us in the next 3-5 years. I can see BOS, NYR, NJ, CLB, BUF taking a playoff spot from us next few seasons. At this point I'm not really sure what can be done. People seem to think Holland going to send offer sheets to RFA, which he rarely has ever done. This teams needs learn to cut dead weight when needed. It's not 2008 anymore, you can't just hold onto it because of loyalty. I doubt any top FA cares that we live up to a verbal contact to Clearly.

I think we would be pressed to get one of Staal or Okposo, let alone both. That goes for any 2 combo FA pair people keep tossing around. FA are not lining up to play here.

I doubt he wanted out of MTL. He just donated 10mil to a children hospital MTL. I'd say he was pretty invested and had no plans of leaving.

Yeah you could be right. I may still feel salty about what happen with AA and Mantha at the end of the season and during the playoffs. I just feel like if I'm gonna have someone play 8-10 minutes a night, may as well be the league leader in hits over the last 3-4 seasons.

Yeah I agree. I would think after we sign whatever top FA we would be able to still get someone like Martin. I also rather have the "kids" play in AHL if they are going to get less than 10mins a night. Nothing pissed me off more than AA getting ZERO ice time in the 3rd during the playoffs, this wasn't just during the playoffs. I'm sorry, but no one can tell me 8-10mins a night in the NHL is better off for a young player than playing top 3-6 role in the AHL. If we are going to play the kids, that we hope to be top players on our team, let them play real minutes.

I don't act like anything. Simply said what I believe is the true. I give you Babs has put Z and Datz on the same line but how long does that last? Here's pretty much what has happen the last 3 seasons, first its one or two games, then 5-10mins of ice time, then powerplay. That's pretty much the role of if. Most of the time Bert and Mule played with Z. Or Bert plays with Helm. Our best line in the last few playoffs have been Bert / Z / Mule. So they left Datz with Flip and Happy / Cleary. And as for Homer... Last two years his ice time drop to pretty much just powerplay. Also, Babs said Datz can't do it alone vs Nsh and we need another top 6 player. I'm sorry but I don't see how Happy is any better then Cleary. As for Flip I just don't think hes the kind of wing Datz needs. And rather you like it or not Datz does care who he plays with, he has ask for another Russian player to play with for the past 2 years. So what now, once Bertz back he'll get Clearly and Bertz, wooohoo what a upgrade.......or wait maybe we can count on SAMUELSSON.

I mostly just read the forums, I never really post. But why in the world can't the Red Wings find a real top 6 wing to play with Datz??? I mean the guy even ask for it pretty much, along with Babs calling it out last season play-offs. You would think that most free agents or anyone would jump at the chance to play on the wing with Datz. Every night I see Abs and Cleary line up along the side of Datz, my brain breaks. The Wings have had like 3-4 Seasons now to find him anything better then Cleary or Abs, it really shouldn't be that hard. This almost reminds me of the Flames with Ignila, which is another sad story. The Wings found someone to play with Z its overdue to find someone to play with Datz. I also feel if the Wings have any chance of keeping him longer then next year they gotta make this happen now rather then later. But in the end I guess the Wings have had 3-4 seasons to get a lot of things done but haven't. The way they been playing I can say for sure right now without Datz, you'll see even fewer people at the "sold out Joe Louis Arena". This has me feeling pretty down when I watch the Wings play to tell the truth. Anyways sorry If I went off topic.

I have started a Keeper League on ESPN with 6 or so friends and we are planning on expanding the league to 12 or more teams. All we ask is you to be active, if you're new thats more then fine just be active. Most of us are PC-Gamers and have been gaming with each other for the last 10-12 years so the core is strong and you don't have to worry about the league leaking alway. ((3 or so of us are from Downriver area)). Again all we ask for is you to be active, we understand that people do have a life outside the internet and sometimes crap happens, I'm not gonna ask for a doctors note so just let me know if possible ahead of time that you won't be around for a few days/weeks. Rules of the league are not set in stone at this time. The only thing that is set in stone are draft picks, which were set to random once the league was created. With that said, there are plenty of early first round picks still open. I also have a Ventrilo server that I'll let people in this league use at anytime they would like. Its really fun for drafting and really nice for working out trades. Plus side is putting a voice to a name, down side putting a voice to a name. We use this ventrilo all the time for gaming also so there always people online. And typing sucks anyways. If you wanna take a chance on a new friendly keeper league let me know. I went to game 2 vs PHX when Z was out and I think I seen Kronwall with the A then. So I'm pretty sure if anyone it will be him.

Hello, long time listener just wanted to ask about these 2 guys and what everyone thinks about them. I think Zherdev has a ton of upside and shoots right, as long as he can get his head out of his.... Emery is a pretty legit goalie atlest to back up Howard. I won't pretend to know how much they are both worth but do you guys think we can or should try to sign them both or let alone one of them? Sorry if this has arleady been discuss.

I was just looking at the FA list of players that are left thats all and them 2 stuck out the most to me. But thanks for all the feed back. I would of ask about Anton Babchuk also but I don't think Ken is out to get another D after picking up Ian White.

Ya I know Zherdev problems are pretty bad just hoping we could fix that here.
