Here is a list of starters, i'll bold the one's I could see being traded (not necessarily that I would want). I'm sure anyone COULD be traded, but im talking for nothing significant in return. Anaheim John Gibson Arizona Antti Raanta Boston Tuukka Rask Buffalo Robin Lehner Calgary Mike Smith Carolina Cam Ward Chicago Corey Crawford Colorado Semyon Varlamov Columbus Sergei Bobrovsky Dallas Ben Bishop Detroit Jimmy Howard Edmonton Cameron Talbot Florida Roberto Luongo L.A. Jonathan Quick Minnesota Devan Dubnyk Montreal Carey Price Nashville Pekka Rinne New Jersey Cory Schneider New York I Jaroslav Halak New York R Henrik Lundqvist Ottawa Craig Anderson Philadelphia Brian Elliott Pittsburgh Matt Murray San Jose Martin Jones St. Louis Jake Allen Tampa Bay Andrei Vasilevskiy Toronto Frederik Andersen Vancouver Jacob Markstrom Vegas Marc-Andre Fleury Washington Braden Holtby Winnipeg Connor Hellebuyck

100% agree with the bold, he very well could. My issue, is I don't like the idea of paying players for potential. For every McDavid, Matthews etc. there is a Stefan, Faloon, and Daige. They should at least do something significant first.

Tatar traded to Golden Knights for 2018 1st, 2019 2nd & 2021 3rd

Well thats tongue in cheek lol, Moss comes across like he has a personal vendetta against the Wings. -
That really was a stupid contract. At least McDavid earned his contract by winning a Hart, Eichel is being paid purely on his accomplishments in junior and what people think he can do which is not the way it should be IMO. He's really done nothing that impressive yet.

I dont get why you are so against signing Green, but want us to waste money on a guy like de Haan. Green is a very good offensive D-man, and I would love it if guys like Hronek and Cholowski were able to play with him. As for the "below average" part. Please explain? I can't see how you can justify this one. He currently ranks 36th in points for a D-man, and I believe he is top 30 if you look at PPG (taking out the guys who have not played alot of games). Each NHL team has 6 D-men playing each night which translates to 186 D-men. I get that points are not everything for a D-man, but how can you say a top 36/186 guy is "below average".

In all seriousness, I'm sure Zetterberg has pull just like any captain does, which I am fine with. The whole Swedish mafia thing is a giant exaggeration of reality that was created by Jeff Moss (I think thats his name) as he just takes everything to the extreme, or flat out makes crap up. -
Caps were also the elite of the elite, Wasn't Shattenkirk also on the 3rd pairing there?
-
I voted an A. My reasoning being that given the circumstances, I think he did the best he could. You can't hold Green's injury against Holland. I was going back and forth between A and B, I went with A, but I can see the logic for a B.

Fair point...then maybe a modified NTC that kicks out 1 week before the deadline. Can you even do that?
-
Are you saying we should have not qualified him? Or signed him to a 1 year deal?
-
Had we traded him 2 months ago, the offer would have likely been a 2nd rounder. Why would TB give up a 1st round pick for their 3rd choice two months before they need to?
-
I thought you were just a Wings fan, I didnt realize you liked the Senators to.

Plus he's played in 7 more games. -
Second Bold: lol ok. I am a strong believer in analytics, you however take it to an extreme. There is no doubt the Blackhawks used to be very good, not disputing that. First Bold: You actually hit the nail on the head. Possession is just one piece to the puzzle, the way you talk its the be all end all which is ridiculous. It goes both ways though. A team can be great at possession, but still not be good (ie. Blackhawks) BUT at the same time, a team can be ok at possession and still be good if they are strong in other area's. Sure if you suck at possession, you are likely not going to be good (ie. Arizona/Buffalo) but there is more to hockey then just possession, hence its one piece of the puzzle.
-
Or even just giving a modified NTC, I am fine with "submit a list of 10 teams you won't go to", nobody wants to end up in Arizona lol. I get it. If Green's injury was worse then we realize, if you were a GM, would you want to risk giving up a 1st rounder for a guy who may be worthless (depending on the injury).
-
That was not point, my point was that they still suck despite having good possession metrics, that being funny given your obsession with Corsi. With that being said, I do think that Towes is a factor. Guy is just not good enough to carry a team that is not stacked.

Wow! That is a crazy return for Tatar, I was not expecting that. Sucks that he couldn't move Green, but if Washington couldn't afford him, TB was not playing ball, and he vetoed a trade to the Leafs (rumor, not confirmed), what can you do. -
If he’s not seriously injured, then ya that’s pretty bad.
-
Holland not trading doesnt scare me at all, the only thing that makes me a bit nervous is Green's injury.
-
Nope, you're just freaking out. From Khan today: MLIVE.COM: Ansar Khan reports the Red Wings seek “a first-round pick or at least some combination involving multiple high picks and a prospect.” They’ve had extensive talks with the Lightning and Green is willing to waive his no-movement clause if a deal can be worked out with Tampa Bay. Toronto and Florida are also linked to Green, while Khan observes the Capitals lack the cap space to bring Green back to Washington. The Wings would also like to move Tomas Tatar or Gustav Nyquist. The Predators are among several clubs with interest in Tatar.
-
Very rare that guys traded on trade deadline have term left on their contract. As far as the bold, he didnt say that, I dont have the energy to argue with you about this today.
-
100% agree with the bold, everyone needs to stop being so emotional about all of this, its not like we have one more day to make a trade for the next 2 years. The goal tomorrow is to trade our soon to be UFA's. IF a great offer comes in for a guy like Tatar or Nyquist, take it, but I would rather hang on to them and trade them later, then to trade them for peanuts. Some people are just so eager for moves, its like they will accept anything.
-
It really is laughable. People will literally find things out of nothing in order to criticize. I would be shocked if KH is not back next year.

Ya but that's like predicting the sun will rise in the morning.
