I do feel bad for Bertuzzi, his coach clearly gave him orders and he followed through on them. The Moore indecent was ugly, and I feel horrible for him, but it was a result of a messed up culture at the time, not Bertuzzi himself. If I remember correctly, Moore did fight someone early in the game. Should have ended there.

I remember watching that live, and you are right. After slamming head first like that into the ice, having a pile of players just jump on you is going to just f*** things up even worse.

I have to think that either Abby or Helm are going on IR. Otherwise they dont have enough roster spots unless someone like XO or Jensen are traded/placed on waivers.

I think E won't be moved because I believe Holland has zero desire to move him. With Green likely gone, Kronwall being a year away from retirement or less from LTIRetirement, and XO/Jensen being nothing more then 3rd pairing guys I dont think Holland would want to move E. You never know with Tatar or Nyquist, I guess it all depends what the market is. If he gets a Vanek like offer, no chance. If he gets something with serious substance though he should do it. Hey, that's good for us. Kane having a ridiculous asking price makes our options look better. Keep asking for the moon Buffalo! I'm split on this. Howard has earned the net wayyy more then Mrazek. But for the future of our team you can argue that trading Howard and giving Mrazek one season to make or break may be better for us. The fact that Howard has worth right now and Mrazek is worthless is even more the reason to consider this. With that being said, Mrazek is owed nothing, I am just looking at what may be better for the team long term. I am a much bigger Howard fan then Mrazek fan.

Tough break, but it looks like he got him in the jaw/nose area. With the league facing all these concussion suits, I can see why they did it. Does suck though, hate to see a streak like that end in that manner.

Had Lidstrom scored on Fleury in the final moments of gm.7, and then we go to OT and and win, even if Osgood doesnt make another save, he becomes a 3 time cup winner (as a starter) and likely a conn smythe winner. I think without a doubt in this scenario he goes up. The fact that he could have none nothing else in that game, and it would have been his definitive moment IMO speaks volumes as to why he should go up. Hopefully he makes the HHOF first, as that is a must.

I think sometimes players of that era are put on a pedestal simply because of how long ago it was that they played. Ill use Alex Delvecchio for example, what would you say he accomplished that Fedorov did not? The most points he ever scored in a year was 83, which was good for 7th in the league that year. He won 3 cups (same as Fed), and never won any individual awards (Fed won a Hart). The only only thing he has over Fedorov is that he played here for a very long time, but in that era with the lack of competition, that was a lot easier to do.

Showcased is the wrong word, but something like this always helps. A players value or lack of value is a byproduct of a ton of little to big things, this is just one of those little things in the plus column.
