I don't see Green, Goose or Tatar going anywhere this season. It does appear we selling for the first time, but the Wings have done nothing to indicate that they are tearing it apart, personally I see them selling off UFA's, players that dont want to be here, and maybe a few bad contracts. If we get a top 5 pick, and land a D-man, I see them trying to jump right back in the playoff race next year.

There has to be more to the story that we just dont know. My gut tells me that both Babs and Blashill had an issue with him, maybe lack of effort in practice? Maybe a poor attitude? I have no idea and this is pure speculation, but it's just odd.

So you are saying he was a overrated and that he's not close to as good as people say he is, but he is going to make the Wings look stupid because he will breakout. Your talking out both ends here. Either you think he was a bad player from the start and will not amount to anything, or you think he was a good pick but was not used well. You cant say he was a bad pick, a bad player, but will be more then fine in Chicago. The fact that he got a third for a player who was likely out in the summer and had zero points this year is impressive IMO. I was expecting teams to offer up some closer to a mid to low end pick thinking the Wings had no choice but to bite.

I dont think the Wings want to trade E. If they do, I think a team would be stupid to do it now with him being hurt.

Sucks to see the Jurco/Wings story end this way, but it had to happen. For whatever reason he wasn't clicking here, and I don't think things would have turned around. Hopefully this 3rd rounder turns into a good player. Not to mention he asked to be traded. I'm surprised Holland was able to get a 3rd for him. Best of luck to Jurco.

So trading AA for Trouba, Subban, Weber, OEL is off the table for you. But trading a 1st, 3rd, and Nyquist for a UFA is a good idea? You have lost your right to rip on Ken Holland lol.

Nobody here has watched Holland as a seller before. This is literally the first time he has ever been in this position since he took over as GM in 1998.

I assume based on your tone that you think Holland should except the first offer he receives? I can't say I agree with that. If he is getting bad offers, its in our best interest to wait.

Simple question, if we get a top 5 pick and Winnipeg offers us Trouba for the straight up, would you do it? No idea if Winnipeg would even want to do it, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

I agree with everything you said except the "at best" part. While I do think AA will end up a 2C, I dont think being a 1C is impossible like you are implying. I would say his ceiling is 1C, floor is 3C, and most likely spot is 2C.

I'm fine with that, retaining salary on a contract that is in it's final year doesn't hurt us at all.

These are the kind of posts that cause people to accuse posters of over hyping prospects. Guys like OEL and Subban are elite. The chances off AA becoming an elite 1C are not that high, more then likely under 50%. He is projected to be a very good 2C.

Truly assessing a coach as a fan is pretty much impossible as there is so much we are just not privy to. As much as we all want to think we are experts, we are not. I think every player has a ceiling and a floor, the better coach the closer he will be to getting the majority of his players to their ceiling. This can be done a variety of ways, from motivating players, good game planning etc. This is why I dont think Blashill is a good coach, pretty much every player on this team is closer to their floor then their ceiling. With that being said, can I say Blashill is the worst coach in the league as a fact....no...... because that is pretty much impossible for a fan from the outside looking it to accurately assess. How can I say as a fact that Blashill is not as good of a coach as Bednar ? If you feel this last statement is true, this is likely the right move. If you are wrong, this would be a bad move. Only time will tell. I hope you are wrong, but at this point I would say it's 50/50. I'm personally not ready to give up on him at 25. Larkin/AA sure I see it. How is he handling Mantha poorly in your opinion?

A fact is "player A has x goals", what you are saying is opinion. I'm sure Av's fans would make an argument for Jared Bednar. He has the superstars and his team simply sucks. We a team struggling have 23 more points then them.

Agreed with the term hater, I was just explaining to Dickie why people call him that because he thinks its because "he speaks truth" but its not, its because he is over the top. I have used this saying before, but people should not be wearing "rose coloured glasses" but they also shouldnt be wearing "s*** coloured glasses" going to extreme's always makes you look bad. Just evaluate things like they are and try to put personal bias aside and use that mentality when evaluating this team. Without a doubt this team has been on decline, anyone can see that now, but years ago nobody knew for sure. Some will say they did, but they are probably the same people that said we were going on a decline around 2005. In 2005 they were wrong, in 2010 they were right. I guess what I'm getting at is that hockey is a cyclical game and we have been lucky enough to avoid the downturn for a very very long time. Now it's is our time, and hopefully Holland or whoever takes over for Holland if he steps down brings up back up quickly.

Who said being critical makes someone a "hater"? I didn't. Being a "hater" to me would be saying you hate someone and making over the top derogatory statements about them which is what I was referring to. Doing this is fine, it is a discussion board. I dont agree with you about Howard, I think people around here really undervalue him. 2 years, 10.6 million is not a huge commitment for a guy who can be an upper tier goaltender when healthy. It just wont happen until Bishop/Fleury are sorted out Agree with you about Nielsen and E, and I agree with you about Kronwall/LTIR.
