Managed to grab my tickets too! Came to $708USD for 4 (f***ers all took the cheap comerica park tickets already!!). This is going to be AWESOME. -

If the CBA causes more stable contracts then we could potentially get a great player for a smaller price tag than this year. Could be worth it in the end (for our future cap).

I figure Smith will become a dynamite offensive defenseman this coming season which Lidstrom has not been in the past few seasons. We may be worse on defense losing Lidstrom, but it's a team game and everyone will have to step in defensively in his departure. I think we'll get some firepower back we've been missing by adding Quincey and Smith to the roster and our defense, will only continue to improve with experience. Not a great situation, but not a terrible one either. This year will be exciting to see our prospects finally given a chance to succeed.

If true, it's because Howson is an idiot. Think about this, he's the leading scorer of the Detroitf****** Red Wings. Sounds great like that, doesn't it? Wait til' Howson has him on the team and shows inconsistency and wants "more fun". If we make this trade, Nash will be a down right steal. Sure we may have to throw in a pick or prospect, but we have too many skaters at the moment and I don't think someone like Mursak will flourish too much more. Franzen + Mursak + 3rd rd pick is my hope. Holland just has to sell the "come on man he's our top scorer, you can't ask for much more than that!" line.
