No way Holland gives up more than a 2nd for Franson anyways. It's just not a smart move any way you look at it. We give up assets to get them here for a rental and then HOPEFULLY we can rush out and give them a huge contract -

Hes just not a guy I want to be tied up to for 6-7 years. I'm sure he'll help us out but there are better options. No point in trading for him at the deadline. If he signed here I would be happy but I'd much rather trade for Yandle whose a model of consistency and gives us a lot of options with his great contract -

With the log jam of prospects ready to make a jump to the NHL handing a guy like Franson a huge contract isn't such a smart move. With Yandle, we get a cheap contract with just a couple years left. Franson will have to be a corner stone of our defense for 6+ years if hopefully, he allows us to win the bidding war that's sure to happen. -

I don't want Franson for close to 7 mil per... I'd rather the better offensive defensemen for 5 with a guarantee that he'll have a few years here -

I wouldn't mind if Ouellette was used in a package for Yandle, Franson or even Meyers. Ouellette has been solid but he's not some exceptional talent. Other teams will be most interested in him over our other d prospects in GR and I don't think we lose a whole lot replacing him with Marchenko -

Kindl has been injured that's why Ouellette has been a main stay on that 6th spot. If he wasn't, who knows, Ouellette probably still keeps that spot. Kindl was at the end of his leash when he got injured. I wouldn't be surprised if Ouellette gets moved for an upgrade. Holland has to be inquiring about Yandle, Green etc... -

Coyotes and Oilers both have the worst goal differentials in the league. Petry and Yandle both play the most minutes. There's your plus minus similialarities right there -

Plus minus, the stat only used when it works in your favour for an argument. Anybody that watches a lot of Yandle and Green actually play would tell you Yandle is the better player. That's what we're discussing. Idk what Shea weber and Suter's plus minus has to do with it -

I was even going to include "Don't be blinded by stats" into my post. There isn't a GM in the league that would choose Green over Yandle. Green has played for the high scoring Capitals his whole career compared to the defensive minded Coyotes. getting stats like that playing with guys like Ovechkin and Semin in their prime to umm Doan...Whitney for 1 year? Iron man defensemen compared to injury prone defensemen is huge factor for me too -

I'm not opposed to Green at all, it's just that Yandle is clearly the better defensemen. Of course the cost is much higher for that reason and his contract -

Yandle has missed like 6 games his whole career compared to umm Green... There's a reason Yandle is way more desired than Green, he is much more talented, plain and simple -
