I think enough time and evidence has shown Howard to be good and Mrazek to be bad. We've gotten 2 months of good goaltending from Mrazek his entire career and he's single handedly losing games for his team more often than not. Wouldn't surprise me to see Coreau start game after game until Howard's back. Mrazek doesn't look like an NHL goaltender
-
Mrazek is the epitome of trash
-
How is this positive the season isn't even half over and we're 4 points out of a playoff spot
-
How long does old Blashill got before he's canned? Seems like it's the first move Holland can make easily to save face for right now. Kind of hope the wings keep losing and we can get rid of this guy to at least shake things up
-
Perhaps every established player on the Wings is really just showing their 'true-selves' and Blashill taking over is just a coincidence. But what does Holland have to lose at this point? Losing Blashill is no loss really. Best case scenario the Wings get a boost and play to their supposed potential. Worst case they find out the players are bad no matter who coaches them and they continue the way they've played all season. Maybe they like having Blashill just to sustain these down years and Holland doesn't care about the playoff streak? If the ultimate goal is the playoffs then Blashill will be the first to go and soon

No way Blashill makes it to the new year
-
Need to get this mans stench far away from the organization
-
I predict Blashill getting fired before the end of the month. This team just screams bad coaching
-
Some great points. Theirs really no benefit spending years grooming Blashill and letting him learn along the way. The team performs poorly, maturing players aren't growing and the teams assets are worth less. No GM would allow this for two straight years, especially after they had to fire and replace all his assistants. That's another bad sign for Blashill. Holland did good by giving him another shot with a new staff but I think any GM would have to move on. If only for the playoff streak. The question is who replaces him
-
He's played a lot better recently. I think even though he's struggled offensively he's still is a better center than Larkin. Good on face offs, great defensively, smart and a good passer. Everything has looked good for the wings up until they reach the opposing blue line. The whole team is brain dead when it comes to in zone offense
-
At this point it is what it is. Holland has no choice but to rebuild on the fly. No team is going to take the vets and The fans don't want to trade the young guys. Vets are too old and inconsistent and young guys are too young and inconsistent mixed with a few disappointing busts. Drafting is the most to blame imo
-
The defense can't shoot and the PP looks like it will end worst in the league. That will do it The wings try and play down low and score ugly but the forwards are too weak and frail to crash and bang. It would be a huge help if the defense could get pucks on net. It's like playing 3 on 5 in the offensive zone. The defensemen are just there
-
Vets and young guys were both bad in this one. Decent effort defensively. Nobody stood out for the wings except Jimmy. Our rookies aren't that good and the vets can't carry this team offensively and defensively. Asking for more out of the young guys. Tatar and Nyquist are lost causes I've completely accepted that they are ineffective in all areas of the game

12/1 GDT - Panthers at Red Wings - 7:30 PM EST

1 assist in 24 games. Let's be honest, Dylan has not been great. He's getting good looks at center but he's not there yet. His whole game is based off his speed and not much else. Nielsen and Z are far and away the top two centermen. This change makes the two lines better -

I would put Nielsen between Vanek and Nyquist and Put Larkin back to Z's wing in place of Tatar who can go to Siberia -

Played about 6 quality minutes in this one. The PP saps their confidence. Not only do they not score it disrupts their whole flow. Wings looked good until their disgusting PP made them feel stupid -
For someone missing as much time as he has it was a pretty impressive night for Jurco. The fourth line had one of its strongest games of the year imo
-
Mantha with his first GWG?
-
Wings played decent until the third period. Blashill sends the defensive studs over the boards to protect the lead and they take penalties and give up the best scoring chances of the game. Fortunate to get a win in regulation thanks to Mrazek and some luck
-
Every good team loves analytics and every bad team hates them guys. When have the wings ever said they were against analytics? The only team that put everything behind analytics in the league is Arizona the rest are reasonable humans making decisions based off many things

11/26 GDT: Montreal Canadiens at Red Wings, 7:00 EST

Deserved better but it's good to see the wings play with some structure lately Tatar continues to be a train wreck -
I'm at the point where I didn't even care if they got the W because they played so well. Mrazek is just not getting any breaks. We win this game 4-1 if Jimmy stayed in net

11/23 GDT: Red Wings 2, at Buffalo Sabres 1 (SO)

For whatever reason I don't think it's a coincidence that with all the line juggling the one constant is whichever line Tatar and Sheahan are on is complete trash. Both have yet to play a good game this season Also super dissappointed in Dekeseyer. Green is far and away our best defensmen Was nice to see Larkin have a nice game. Don't think he registered a point but he seemed to be energized after that Nyquist goal. He needs to stay with Vanek. One thing this team lacks is hockey IQ or just offensive instincts -

I just hope Jurco comes back and takes an established guy out of the lineup like Tatar or Sheahan to shake things up -

I have identified the team cancers that are really holding the wings back: Tatar, Sheahan, Dekeseyer How does Dekeseyer lead the team in minutes night after night when he has been a train wreck? No accountability for certain players. Green is carrying him or else he'd play the entire game in his own zone
