Replacing Ericsson with Fowler would go a very long way but Wings still need a good top pairing RH'd offensive defensemen badly -

Ya so maybe their is a little bit of relation to defensive players inheritlantly having worse corsi numbers but may not be terrible players. This is starting to get ridiculous So far we've seen sheltered players have amazing corsi numbers with small sample sizes and good defensive players with the hardest assignments having the worst corsi numbers but having a large sample size. Do you think theirs a slight chance these numbers don't really show whose the better player We just need to see Lidstrom have worse corsi numbers than Smith to really show this board they are not the end all be all of judging talent. I bet if you put the top corsi numbers all together to make a team you wouldn't even have a good team -

I really don't think Holland has an ego problem it's more he wants to be able to trade him. Kind of like the Weiss situation. I think he'll try and do everything he can this year and then next offseason he'll be bought out -

I think the fact that Pulkinnen has amazing Corsi numbers really shows how flawed these stats can be. It really all comes down to usage. It makes sense in the context of a guy like Crosby and other top players because you're just throwing him out there against anybody and having success. It also tells me maybe Blashill is putting way too much emphasis on matchups and it simply hasn't worked -

You know it's a bad signing when peoples trying to justify it by saying 'well he can be traded in a few years' -

Officially don't want Holland as GM of this team anymore. What are you thinking signing an average 32 year old to a 6 year contract. Like what's his end game where does he see this going. This is an awful decision for our team now and going forward -

A deal like this shows holland has no plan for the future. What's his game plan for this rebuild? Hope a superstar signs with us in free agency? Magically draft a superstar with a 20 something pick That feeling when your up against the cap and your roster sucks with no hope for the future -
signed Darren Helm re-signed: 5 years, $3.85m AAV

Weak at forward, weak at D, inexperienced coaching and inconsistent goaltending. What exactly will this team be good at. They have nothing going for them right now -

The future is mighty bleak for the red wings. Nielsen, Helm and Abdelkader that's our future for the next five years. Does anybody with a basic understanding of hockey think those are guys to build a winning team around? -

Helm and Abby's deals make me embarrassed as a Red Wings fan -

He was forced in a top six role because of shortage of talent and couldn't produce but now he's paid like a top six so that should solve all our problems. Can't get good players? Just pay em like their good then everyone will stop bugging you cause you won't have cap space. Nobody wants to trade with you cause all your players and contracts suck? Means no work for Holland to do. This team has no direction. We won't be good until Holland leaves -

Well our forward core is Nyquist, Abby and Helm for the future so I think so -

That would make me feel better actually if we got somebody decent. This deal makes it seem like Holland has no clue about the teams future. He's just 'Winging' it -

Holland just uses all our cap on guys like Helm and Abby so he won't be bothered to make deals and blame the cap. Compared to previous years and other GM's that are actually putting thought and time into their rebuild he's doing about half the amount of work Imagine what it feels like to bring in outside talent that has an actual impact outside of the organization. This is just terrible and has officially made me not want Holland being a part of this team anymore this was the last straw. He hasn't accomplished a thing since Lidstrom retired but is still managin to lock up our future. He's building the core of this team off being a playoff bubble team. It almost seems like he's just lazy -

Sorry just speculation because Holland can't judge talent -

This deal sucks obviously but besides maybe Mantha theirs no good forwards being left off the team anymore. Mantha might be a full timer to start the year. I don't think we have anyone close to being an impact NHLer at forward in GR anymore -

Pretty sure the Red Wings are the only team in the league that would pay him that much Dekeseyer is getting 7M confirmed I don't think Holland watches any other teams besides the red wings...Dekeseyer is a franchise dman because he'll be paid like one. Guarantee DD gets paid more than Seth Jones. I'd rather be a basement team than structure our core off mediocre players I really like Helm and think he is pretty under valued around here but that salary and term is a complete joke There's no way around it Holland blew it and if this is how he manages players he shouldn't be doing it anymore. Almost 4M a year for a lengthy term for a 4th line player. This is worse than Abby's deal -

Ya I think the roster is what really made datsyuk's decision to leave. If we had a great team I guarantee he will finish out his contract -
Les not get carried away it's not like Weber is terrible but imo Subban is much better and Weber joining that Habs defense group is a whole lot different than Nashvilles
-
Who will Weber's defense partner be next year Imagine going from Roman Josi to Andrei Markov
