Just having him off the roster and making room would be huge. How often do we think about that 2.5M from Weiss now that he's gone? Seems like he left 10 years ago -

this would be crazy. Wouldn't he have to hit waivers like today if this were to happen -

I like Smith but these advanced stats don't hold much water when he isn't playing top 4 minutes. Has he been given enough opportunity? Probably not but possession stats aren't really a true indicator when you are given sheltered minutes. No shot at Smith imo he's the most likely defensemen in this organization to take a big step and become a key to our blue line. He still has a lot to prove but he also deserves the chance with some more responsibilities -

Ya pens shot blocking was a huge key to the series. Anytime sharks got some extended pressure nothing was getting through to the net -

1 shot on goal in the third. That will do. Sharks haven't played one decent game and still had a chance to force a game 7 at home -

Sharks haven't done anything right all series just a team out of sorts and frustrated Thought they looked deadly all playoffs until they got to the finals. Pretty lucky to still have a chance to force a game 7 -

Sharks could use Nyquist or Tatar. Their wingers are kind of trash -

Waaay too harsh on Helm. Stopped reading there. I thought the earlier analysis was spot on Too many issues to fix in one offseason is basically the wings issue -

Be wary of long term deals when we're a transitioning team. I'm not saying we'll regret it but having no flexibility is what got us in this mess -

It's not about Helm<Miller for me Miller will sign a 1 year deal for cheap and Helm won't. I like Helm and would love to ham him as a 4th liner if his salary reflected it but it won't. Adding Miller is just a good reliable option that risks the team nothing. Damnit Holland choosing Miller over Stamkos. Stephen Weiss costs this team more than Miller will -

Didn't Miller and glendening play on the same line? -

Miller was a key component in shutting down the Johnson line and Tampa's power play last playoffs. This year that one line pretty much single handedly beat us. Saying he's good for nothing is just wrong. Him and Glendening are easily the two best defensive forwards on the team. If you can't score at least be good at something.... I'm looking at you Jurco. Miller actually provides similar production -

Sign Miller for very close to 1M for a year... If he doesn't work out then he doesn't play. No worries. I got no problem with short term deals to help the team stay afloat I am very interested to see what DD gets. Considering Abby got such a ridiculous deal. Imo there's no reason to hand him a 6-8 year deal but he probably will -

What a coincidence defensive forwards with hard assignments have worse possession numbers than sheltered offensive guys -

Penalty killing is a team stat no advanced statistics is going to show you this guy was a good penalty killer on a bad penalty killing team. The fact that when we had a good penalty kill he was used as the primary penalty killer and when watching appeared to be the best penalty killer and when he was hurt we had a very bad penalty kill is enough. Don't need the winging it in Motown analysis how glendening is the worst player in the nhl and AA is the next Sidney Crosby. These stats are often flawed -

Resigning Miller to a safe 1 year deal would be the smart move. I don't know how you would expect AHLers who haven't even combined for 10 NHL games could step in and be better than the teams best penalty killer. Not to mention Calahan and Nosek are midgets -

17 shorthanded goals that's nuts -
Not to mention Brown is a shell of the player he was when they won their first cup. Kopitar and Doughtey have emerged since then as obvious more deserving players

LA hadn't led against the Rangers when they were up 3-0 on them I believe? Not sure on the exact details
