A game full of special teams is the worst thing for the wings even if they are the ones setting the majority of the calls. I bet this is a much closer series of all the game were 2-3 calls a game. Game 2 was just a circus the refs absolutely ruined at least two games

The problem with the PP and just their offensive play in general is confidence. The old men have no confidence in their abilities to exploit a gap or make a quick play so they just turn back and make the safe play... Let someone else drive play. The PP looks like a lot of guys who don't want the puck because they know they'll screw up The worst part about this series is that Tampa isn't even very good or playing well

When is the last time Z and Dats made a play that made you cheer besides Z's deflection goal

God Z is useless. Getting outplayed by Andersson with an easier assignment. This is a new low for the Red Wings watching him adjust as the Dan Cleary of unearned ice time Playoffs is where everyone digs deeper and back checks and we got guys who physically can't. 50/50 puck goes in the corner and Z doesn't even attempt to go after it I think Z's problem is he has so many people around him that respect him so much he thinks his play has been satisfactory

Even if the Wings go out early I'm still happy with these playoffs if Chicago and LA get bounced in the first round Find myself cheering like a legit fan watching St Louis and San Jose

I mean bad teams like Columbus are willing to deal a guy like Johanssen but the Wings are not/cannot. But if a guy comes up in the draft that the wings are really high on Holland needs to go after somebody. No high end potential at all has been through this system in a very very long time. You have to at least try to address this problem eventually

Got to be worried about the state of the defense going forward and theirs nobody in the pipeline. Wings can't make a pitch for a guy like Seth Jones because other teams have better peices. Sure we had productive peices (up until this last year) but they're small one dimensional Euro's. Why would another team choose a 30 goal scorer Tatar over a 30 goal guy like Johanssen. Too many teams need a #1 D and they're willing to go all in one one as part of a rebuild that the Wings won't be able to. Wings won't be a serious team until theirs somebody on defense that can be a difference maker in a series. If Holland pays DD huge money and term like he's a #1 I will have given up faith in him. I believe he is buying time right now until he finds worthy players that he doesn't see yet

Imagine having a coach that doesn't seem disappointed or frustrated that his team was one of the worst in the NHL in the second half and gets destroyed by one line in the playoffs

Quincey sucks just as bad as Ericsson Team took a nose dive as soon as he returned from injury and defense hasn't played a decent game with him in the lineup these playoffs The D sucked all series and the veterans on offense were equally trash. Problem there isn't enough great young guys to run a team Guys that played a good series imo Sheahan was really good, Larkin woke up eventually, Abby was a beast, he could be a key player in the playoffs with a competent team and Richards surprised me, could have been decent depth. Not really gonna cut it when more than two thirds of your lineup has been struggling since The deadline

This team needs a major culture change. This is the NHL's retirement home for guys who want to keep getting paid to play hockey

I really have to applaud Blashill. Despite tremendous evidence, facts and results he has not for one second strayed away from his strategies. Takes a lot of balls to get blown out in a series and still maintain that you know better than everyone else despite the outcomes time and time again. A first year coach no less. Takes a lot of balls. Or job security Firing his ass and shipping out some underperforming vets would instill me with some confidence in Holland going forward. Kronwall, Ericsson and Quincey haven't had a good season by top 4 defense standards in 3 years. That's half your defense. Half your D can't have 'down' seasons and expect you to be a competent team

I hate watching Kronwall and Zetterberg play hockey they are bad hockey players
