I don't know why but I'm not seeing the issues with Ericsson that everyone else is. He's a better skater and puck mover than Q and he will occasionally lay somebody out. Q hasn't been good at all down this stretch. He gets exposed against quick forechecks. Q might be a little stronger in front of the net but not by much I'm starting to see why Holland was interested in Tyuten (spelling?) that guy is super mean and tough to play against. Would be nice to have a guy like that

Smith has shown he can excel when given more responsibility. He may be a guy that needs a lot of looks to really be effective. Imagine what a guy like Subban would look like if he was playing 12 minutes a night with no power play time. Let him play with Kronwall or DD in the top 4. Märchenkö will be a good replacement for Q. Quincey has been sensational at times but pretty inconsistent. Marchenko is a rookie and is still learning the ropes but has done a fine job. He will only get better. The only thing is right now we don't need more defense first guys. Our main strength is our speed, one of the fastest in the NHL but we can't play fast when our defense isn't getting the puck up ice quickly

Smith in for Marchenko All these lineups are moot if Blashill doesn't keep them together. Everyone wants to see more AA. The kid took it upon himself to fire this team up and fight against a pretty scary Blue Jackets team when we were flat. Kind of embarrassing for the wings but this kid is fired up to be in the NHL

I''m really not a fan of Richards in this lineup. Trying to stick him on a line and it's like what does he offer? How is he going to contribute? You almost have to give him 2nd line duties with great wingers just to make him work out somewhere in the lineup Nyquist-Z-Abby AA-Dats-Larkin Jurco-Sheahan-Tatar Helm-Glen-Richards Funny that Blshill will never use this 2nd line. He's already got the two fastest skaters playing together anyways and he's tried so many half-brained line schemes but no way the rookies can be defensively responsible enough to be in that 2nd line role together in his mind. AA has proven he can be an effective NHLer time to give him more opportunity. It may be fun to watch and effective when we're in a pinch but I don't think it makes much sense, based on our team makeup, to have our two best centres playing together.

this team has no redeeming qualities, nothing to hang their hat on, nothing to be proud of. Statistically we're an all around bad hockey team

Kronwall sucks This team is washed

Well this game was just a remarkable failure. We look at all the statistics and the wings really aren't good at any one thing. This is just a bad, non-playoff hockey team

I keep going with the hot goalie.... I don't understand what's so wrong, even in the playoffs, of having 2 goalies play. If we got two guys that can steal us games, I'm playing the one whose getting it done. Both our goalies kind of have consistency issues. I know Mrazek is young, but getting 16 wins in the playoffs, I can see either having a slump through that period. Either one would be jacked to be put in and could give us a game stealing goalie at all times

Mrazek earned the #1 tag by playing fantastic while Jimmy slumped and now it's the other way around. Why wouldn't you want the better goaltender (at the moment). One bad goaltending performance could be the difference of making the playoffs and not making it

Very important game. We can either right this ship or drown. Can't play bad hockey down the stretch and hold onto a wildcard spot, a lot of hungry teams playing good hockey

Boston been pretty consistent. Pretty surprised by them this year

He looks off even handling the puck. He also bit so hard on that Erhoff chance he had a wide open net but missed. He doesn't look the same as he did a month ago

A stretch like this by Howard is what made Mrazek the #1... Now Howard has put together two amazing performances and Mrazek is faultering. If Howard can put together another great performance on Sunday then he deserves to get more looks. It's fair and for the best of the team at this point

As good as Z and D look together we really need more balanced offense. Nobody can handle that scoring center role aside from Z and D. Not with these wingers at least. It hasn't been consistently done all season

The 1st and 3rd were stoppable and then the game was over. Coming back from 3-0 in the third period wasn't going to happen. We can match them line for line in a tight match up if the defense is much better (like they can be) and we get great goaltending from either Howard or Mrazek. Scratching Smith is a little puzzling. He makes us faster even if he doesn't rack up points. It seems Blash values defense #1 but even our shutdown guys aren't exactly defensive juggernauts. I think we are capable of being a good shut down team when we're on our game and get great goaltending though

Their was some good intensity up until the 5 on 3. If Howard has a strong game on Sunday I'd keep going with him. Mrazek didn't make one big save last night, seemed like Chicago had six scoring chances all game and scored 5 goals

He's just always caught flat footed. Usually picks up the puck in his own zone and just shovels it away. He should be turning the puck up ice or skating it up quickly. That was his bread and butter when he was, ya know, good. He's pretty much another Kronwall but terrible defensively

He just doesn't move his feet at all. Can make plays with the puck but so slow. After he gets his head up and scans the ice, he can put a puck on the tape but he's not making us faster that way. No explosiveness on our back end whatsoever

I can see why Caps fans hated Green. He seems to not give a s*** that he's not contributed on either end of the ice.... And he has hand tattoos, just seems like a ******

Two guys on this team willing to take a beating in front of the net. Helm's good until he thinks he's an all star, then he's not much good for anything
