You have to have a pretty good hockey IQ to understand when to go out and level somebody with a nice clean hit, it's harder than just going out and deciding to cream people Our Defensive strategy seems to be safe and conservative. Watch Winnepeg play, their probably the conplete opposite of our style and that's why their offense is good but their defense is bad

Smith came pretty damn close to making us lose in regulation with 5 seconds left in the game as well -
I think E and Q play tough, even Smith most of the time but I agree DD needs to play with more of an edge. We're not giving up a lot of goals due to our defense being soft. We used to be much worse in that regard. I don't know our defensive numbers but to me I think we look much better defensively then we have for the last few years, partly due to goaltending. I think our offense is dreadful and hasn't been this bad since the 90's

Fighting is on its way out anyways and just because he doesn't fight doesn't mean he doesn't play a tough game. More important to muck it up in the corners and in front of the goal then to fight every 3 games

I think us being able to trade Jimmy is a pipe dream. Teams have better options with a cheaper price tag. I don't blame Holland, nobody could predict Mrazek was going to step into the NHL flawlessly. Hopefully having Jimmy under contract will bring Mrazek's contract down in price. Probably go to arbitration

Gotta hand it to Dave Tippett. This Coyotes team is made up of spare parts plus OEL and a couple great rookies. Now they're finally getting competent goaltending and they're second in their division. You can't go anywhere with the kind of goaltending they got last year -

Yup. Sometimes you have to force the play. We were a bit sloppy and missed a couple passes but we scored three goals. Sometimes when we have the puck it looks like we're just playing keep away until someone takes the puck from us -

But you noticed they didn't start playing with some guts and work hard, play in the middle of the ice until the third. The potential is there they just don't do it all the time -

We can't score because we want to play on the perimeter all game and we don't win puck battles... Unless the team is losing and embarrassed. We got 10 minutes of this game of hard working hockey
