Jurco looks to be getting comfortable... I think the experiment of having a super third line and brutal second line has run its course. Tats should slide up and jurco should replace him on the third -
Sucks we called up XO and Nosek just to sit in the press box and ruin their Christmas plans. I'd love to see Nosek replace Andersson soon

The Devils played really dirty. That's why Abby is worth every penny for games like that. It's where he really shines even though he didn't show up on the score board he was probably our best player. We just need another one of him -
First game we lost strictly because of goaltending so that's a plus. I think we would have won that game handily had we not had that breakdown in the first. Kudos to the wings for keeping up the pressure and almost bringing it back against one of the stingiest teams

I hate our forward lines... I honestly think we would be a better hockey team if Brad Richards wasn't on this team. He's not completely terrible but he's blocking better players in the top six and dressing a better player in GR. I just can't think of any of the 4 lines that he wouldn't make worse by adding him to it -
Yeah he doesn't score very much but DD is more than just a one dimensional shut down defender. I don't know why we get so little scoring from our defense I think it's a system thing

If we're taking him in his prime years then it will most likely be 8 years and he'll get paid for how good he will become unless he wants a shorter deal for a bigger pay day in the future... Right now his market value is around 5.5M... When he enters his prime he'll be the undisputed #1 and a better defensemen There's no way he signs for under 6M

You have to factor in we'll have him under contract for his prime years where he'll be sure to improve I think will either go 5.75M x 2 years or 6-7M x 7 years

You can't compare contracts that were signed 3-4 years ago with today's especially when they were signed before they really broke out in the league. Doughty would sign for 8-10M nowadays

I think the pairings needed to be switched up and DD-Kronwall will both play better together. That's what I love about Blashill, he switches the pairings and it usually makes a huge impact

I bet Dekeseyer signs for long term around 7M so just prepare yourselves for that. It seems LGW hasn't figured out that dmen are in short supply and get paid a lot

Do people forget Howard was hurt a couple games and that's the only reason Mrazek has a few more games? It's been completely 50/50 Blash hasn't shown favouritism to any goalie -
Playing solid defensively and finishing with 40ish points is pretty good for a dman @ 7M nowadays What about Richards? He's paid to score and not known for defense. Is he a failure if he doesn't hit 10 goals? We're not a high flying team. If Green played for Winnepeg he'd be racking up points

I agree. Having a 4th line of Miller-Glen-Helm is a game changer in the playoffs. Replace Helm with Shane Doan and we're a much more complete team

Green is starting to look more and more like an all around dman like Kronwall. Finishing around 40 points is pretty good. Getting our PP figured out would do wonders for their point totals Our defensemen just aren't very active which helps us defensively and hurts us offensively. If you watch the Flames their defense is very active and therefore score a lot but look at their GAA and that's one of the best d lineups in the league

Our defense hasn't been able to score since Lidstrom retired. We went from tops in the league in defense scoring to the bottom in very short order. I think it has something to do with how we generate offense. Everything gets cycled down low, our defense is only a threat on the rush

Kopecky was a pretty good PK 4th liner for us. Too bad other teams drastically over valued him Kopecky>>>>Andersson They almost look like the same player out on the ice tho

Bad feeling about these defense pairing if E sits. Smith will either go all gong ho about being put in the top 4 and ensure a loss or he plays respectable and we squeak this one out in a low scoring affair per usual -
Nosek has been the most consistent pro for the griffs the last couple years, we'll see what we have in him. AA is entering the realm of too good for the AHL

I don't think it would be so crazy to alternate in the playoffs either. Unless one is playing unbelievable of course. Both our goalies have consistency issues
