Pulkinnen<<< I don't hate him, but I hate the idea we're designing our offence around him and we wonder why we're struggling to score. We have two proven 30 goal scorers (pretty much) and they're moved down the lineup in favour of a rookie who still has less goals than them both

I think Larkin would be centering his own line already if he was decent at face offs

The trick is to get one early, don't let the goalie get comfortable. You could see Gus was in the zone after we fired so many shots at him and couldn't beat him until the second. Gotta crash the net, I want to see a lot of scums in front of te net. You gotta will the puck in sometimes

I think the heavy schedule plays a big part in Z slowing down. He's a consistent scorer still, but you really notice when he's out of gas

Especially when you go back to how he ended the season and playoffs... Glendening has more goals in that span

Defense played really well last game but the forwards gotta figure out a way to get pucks in the net any way possible

Usually dominating a team like that results in big leads. Dominating in every area besides the scoreboard isn't really dominating at all

Dominating a team and only scoring two goals on a backup goalie is a problem, Ya know how we rank in the bottom third of the league in scoring. Pretty big problem.

I think Datsyuk and Richards have the right idea on offense. Not too cute but quick bang bang plays. And what ever happened to us scoring on deflections and screens, rebound goals even. There's been a handful all year. Have we scored from the point all year? And Z has scored 2 goals in like 45 games. That is ridiculous. He has stopped making a conscious effort to get pucks to the net and it's showing statistically. We're counting on a rookie and a grinder to consistently score on our first line

Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

Yeah not really. Missed a bit of time at the end of the season last year. Abby scores garbage goals and that's fine but it's not like he has a knack around the net, it's just hard work and being on a line that consistently produces. I think everyone can recognize Helm is making things happen every time he's on the ice, he should be given a chance

Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

I honestly think Helm can do everything Abby can but better

Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

Pulkinnen is putting up decent numbers in the NHL but he's not a top six forward yet. Both him and Jurco should be able to produce on the third line. Now if only we had two proven goal scoring wingers to put in the top six

11/25 GDT : Boston Bruins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

This loss is the most frustrating. Especially against a division rival that's right behind us. It's not like they ramped up the pressure at all during the entire game either. Not finishing their chances and 1 bad goal by mrazek and we give up two points.... There's a lot to be positive about but theirs no reason for our goals for average to be so low compared to other teams that are getting way more scorin than us

Our best goal scorers shouldn't both be on the third line. I understand getting scoring depth, but we're not getting it. Against LA and St. Louis we should have been up by a few if we had some lethal finishers and the game isn't tight down the stretch, same with tonight. Getting that extra goal makes those wins waaaaay easier and we avoid these losses. I understand keeping Abby in the top six but no way should Pulkinnen be forcing both our best goal scorers on a third line where they aren't able to spread out their scoring and where their play style doesn't suit each other, it's lose lose all for the sake of utilizing a one dimensional rookie

Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

This is how I'd insert a rejuvenated Jurco Larkin-Z-Nyquist Tatar-Dats-Richards (This line is guaranteed to produce with Tatar turning it on lately) Jurco-Helm-Pulkinnen Abby-Glen-Sheahan (I bet this line would suck, which is bizarre because we added two great defensive guys who we expect to score-that's strange, wonder why we struggle to score when we count on these guys. Your fourth line shouldn't get worse as you start adding players from the top 9)

When your best set up men don't play with a goal scorer<<<< Richards-Datsyuk-Tatar see! I just made that line infinitely better Larkin-Z-Nyqvist There! I did it again If the top six doesn't look somewhat like this for the next game then I will seriously question Blashill's judgement

Tatar and Nyqvist have been unquestionably our go to guys offensively for two straight years and now suddenly we have acquired the luxury of playing them on our third line because our scoring depth is unbelievable? Blash is wrong on this one. If Tatar and Nyqvist were being set up by Dats and Z and getting more minutes we would have won this game. I agree with moving Helm up to the top 9. I've being saying this since he found his legs. He's the only reason that 4th line has been so great. I think Blash has blinders for the players he wants to see do well and not recognizing whose actually making things happen on the ice. This thing he has with Pulkinnen is 10 times more frustrating for me then Babs with Abby and Glendening

11/25 GDT : Boston Bruins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

Boston is the highest scoring team in the league with their personnel... I think our coach can muster up a little more offence with this roster. Would help if our highest scorers weren't treated like depth guys... And why has Abby become an unmoveable staple of the first line? He has no fine touch and he's never going to beat a goalie unless the puck deflects off of him. At least try it out, Blash has moved better players than him down the lineup

11/25 GDT : Boston Bruins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

When you can't score goals because your two 30 goal scorers play on the same third line with an inept centremen. At least Pulkinnen got some nice stats for a rookie

11/25 GDT : Boston Bruins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

When you're two 30 goal scorers play on the third line and get no minutes when you want to put a team away<<<<

11/25 GDT : Boston Bruins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

That's what happens when you don't try and score on the power play, game could have been over in the second period. You could tell by Mrazek's body language he was gonna give up a bad goal
