Franzen was a beast in front of the net back in the day and took a serious beating. He was the last true power forward we had even though he didn't fight which imo doesn't make somebody a power forward

I would like us to trade for Big Buff at the deadline. We have a butt load of young NHL ready defensemen with no room. Pile them up for Buff and try to resign him. If we can't, we at least cleared some space and were a serious contender

Nyquist reminds me of a smaller but speedier Zetterberg. Once he gets his strength up the comparison will be better. His OT goal against Ottawa last year is vintage Hank

I predict Nyquist will be getting hit with a lot more breakaway passes with Green in the lineup

Actually Tatar had a terrible start playing with Sheahan and was up playing with Dats by November after our first slump. Nyquist lead our team in goals for the first part of the season

Tatar was gifted a spot on the top line with Datsyuk for the entire year despite his defensive short comings and playing poorly for stretches. There was no rhyme or reason for it and it benefited him immensely while only scoring 1 more goal than Nyquist.

Imo, Nyquist is the best sniper on the team. Most his goals he's beating the goalie clean. Tatar is more tenacious and probably better around the net. I voted Nyquist. I think he'll really surprise everyone and just continue getting better and better with experience

Or his insane backhand against the Sharks in game 7 where we came back from 3-0. Gave us a chance to win that game. We were down 2-0 I believe

I can't remember which game but it was in 2013 playoffs against the Ducks. We had a two goal lead for most of the game. A must win and in the third Annaheim got a goal and they had all the momentum and you could just see Dats willed the team to victory and ended up regaining the two goal lead quickly with one of my favorited snipes. I bet we lose that game and the series if we hadn't regained the two goal lead quickly

Still a possibility. Canucks must be interested in moving him and it wouldn't take much. His stock has plummeted. Still need more skill on the blueline but I'm not even sure he can rebound and I used to be a huge Edler advocate

Edler is at a 5M AAV with 3 more years left on his contract I believe. His numbers aren't very impressive and he's 29 years old. I wanted him here for a long time but I can't see him being worth anything we'd have to give up If we were able to add a good all around top 4 I think we would be a legitimate contender. Maybe Smith blows us away this year

Do some of you believe Pulkinnen is a waste of a roster spot or something? There's very little to worry about here, we have the leading AHL scorer playing for us for dirt cheap and he isn't relied upon for scoring at this point, but it is is probably expected if he is to stay in the lineup

I've never expected a lot out of Pulks at this stage of his career. He never got a lot of ice time with Babs, but I never really considered him in his career ever topping out as more than a 15-20 goal scoring third liner.

I'm kind of in the middle where I want Jurco to get a chance on the third line and flourish, but I also want Franzen to come back. He finally isn't counted on to be the go to goal scorer since what? 09? I think he would be a deadly third liner or can give us that much needed size in the top 6. Jurco would have to have quite an amazing bounce back season to score 15-20 goals. Something Franzen can do sleepwalking, when healthy.

I really hope there's room for Jurco on the third line this year and that he does well. I liked the way he played in the playoffs. With skilled linemates and more minutes his point totals have to go up. I can't see Franzen being shipped out. It's just not the Red Wing way. He pretty much willed us to a Stanley Cup let's not forget

I think Q is most likely to be moved. We won't get much considering how valuable he has been to our team but we can shed his salary and replace him with Marchenko who would be just a marginal downgrade. Q would be playing on the bottom pair anyways so his value to us won't be the same as it was. -
