We really do. Buffalo won, Tampa is leading the 4:0 with 10 minutes left. If we don't win this we're last in the East. -

It isn't. They were pretty good the 1st, but got outscored. Just like in the good old times. -

Very much. Even more frustrating when you think of the period they wasted. Wings are actually outplaying them but still trail. -

You can also blame it on Smith. Either you block the shot or you attack the shooter. Standing there and doing nothing is not exactly helpful. -

The Blue Jackets cooled off considerably since their streak. Mrazek will be strong again, Wings win 2:1. LGRW ! -
Comparing not only this season but the last ten years, do you still really think that ?
-
Not a surprise but still a weird move. Julien is a proven NHL-caliber coach and the Bruins are still well into the playoff race and if they make them who knows ? I get that "message go stale" argument but there are many more reasons to the Bruins decline other than coaching. Looks like Sweeny needs a scapegoat. All the better for us. Maybe we can grab him.

They are pretty bad this season. Granted, their PDO with 0.966 is also abysmal, so they are not exactly lucky. But they are not far away from Boston in that regard and the Bruins are fighting for a playoff spot. If we can unload Ericssons contract: Get it done Kenny, even for a bag of used pucks.

Will stay up and watch the game. GO WINGS ! -
That is simply not true. There were whole games where he was one of our best or at least far from being our worst. Keeping Sproul is a question of skill ceiling. Marchenko has shown no sign that he will be more than a 7th, at best bottom pair defender. Sproul shows some promise in a more offensive role and might turn out as a decent 2nd pair defender, maybe even more. Worst case he will end up being a bottom pair defender like Marchenko. Would I take Marchenko over Sproul if the Wings were making run for the Cup this year ? Probably yes, because at present he is the more reliable one. But the Wings are more or less rebuilding. And in a few years Sproul will probably be way better than Marchenko will ever be. And even if not: There is nothing lost here. If you waived Sproul over Marchenko you'd still end up with a bottom pair defender. With Kennys move you at least keep the chance to end up with something better.

I wonder too. And they are not tanking deliberately. They were strong cup contenders before the season started. Stamkos is not getting younger and their roster not cheaper so the Window for them is closing pretty fast. You can bet they are not tanking. Back to us: I also think (hope) that we are selling this season. If Kenny has a choice he should better get lots of low quality picks than just few high ones. I think it is better to spread our picks out to mitigate the luck that is involved, especially with lower picks. What do you guys think ? Better get some high picks or more but lower ones ?

Interesting move by the Leafs. Seems to me that Shanny and Babs are gambling. Or that they just need some defensive depth and Marchenko is exactly that and comes at a cheap price. I'm not upset. Defenseman like Marchenko grow by the dozens. And while there is some value in the position of the 7th or 8th defenseman in a team it is certainly not enough to get a pick. It was also the right move to waive him. Guys would have been all over Holland if Jensen or Sproul would have been waived and rightfully so. Marchenko had his chance here, he didn't use it. If you want a franchise that holds players accountable to their performance then you should embrace that move. I wish Marchenko all the luck with the Leafs. In my opinion he will need all the luck he can get. What this move also indicates: At least Holland seems to like what Sproul brings to the table. Otherwise he probably would have been the one who would have gotten waived.

Apart form our abysmal PP, a great period. Wings should lead this 2:0.

Coreau is rock solid this season and one of our more positive surprises. In fact he did make a strong case for being the starter over Mrazek. While you can blame Blashill for many mistakes this isn't one. Stay save !
-
As much I like Miller, but this is a good sign. It means they let Mantha and AA stay in the lineup. And it is huge because it may mark the end of the "tie goes to the veteran" - era.

Not stellar, but still good. The Canadians were mostly harmless and in one situation Wings were just lucky as the Habs hit the crossbar. But a good game overall from the Wings so far.

Wow, that one was a stinker. Doesn't matter how bad you are there were some things in tonights game that were unacceptable. -

They absolutely can. Let's see what our young guys are made of. With the season probably down the drain anyways this is at least a good lesson for them. And especially for Coreau. Hope he doesn't let the last stinker get to him. -
