Should any of #91, #13, #40, #30 be retired? Poll/Discussion
kickazz replied to kickazz's topic in General
I can't believe there's actually a person out there who victimizes Fedorov as much as this guy is. Even Fedorov and his old agents would be laughing their assess off right now. "Omg Fedorov didn't want to leave the first time" Signs a contract sheet "Omg Fedorov didn't want to leave the second time" Fedorov ACTUALLY leaves. -

Away from Montreal. Are you having another rant session? Get over it, Fedorov pissed off the organization. You can't change how they feel. Justify it all you want for us but the organization gets to decide if they forgive him. -

Well steering back to the topic though. Zetterberg's jersey is going to be retired. Called it. And so did Kliq and a few others. Everyone who called it is a good prognosticator. Pat yourselves on the back. Of course nothing is certain until it's actually done. For all we know Zetterberg could come out with a Mitch Albom interview tomorrow and say he's going back to Sweden to be with his dad then all of a sudden Christopher Illitch and mom let Holland know to give the media a different story about jersey retirement. -

So we jump from 6th to 5th pick with no more games at hand. Both Dallas and Detroit have played 78 games. -

Hell yes, we are overtaking Dallas for the 5th overall pick tonight. -

True, but I think this season Zetterberg has completely separated himself from the Magic Man. He's getting a lot more recognition this year individually than ever before. If he's lucky he may play out his contract and have another couple of good years like this year. Which would probably makes his case stronger. -
Dickie and Jonas get -1 for their terrible rebuttals today.

Good point about Roy and the Habs. Although to be honest Montreal seemed as though they were mostly at fault for the Roy situation. He was left in goal and humiliated and the fans boo'd him during the game. That's public humiliation at its finest. -

Regardless, he still pissed em off for the offer sheet. -

Well for for argument's sake, I'm starting to think that jersey retirement is completely subjective. The owners get to decide. And Fedorov managed to piss off the owners not once but twice. So in essence it seems as though you have to: 1. Be a HoF worthy player and possibly put up a lot of significant numbers for the franchise. 2. Be on the owner's good side, it's his/her franchise at the end of the day. -

Great rebuttal. I don't think you understand the relationship between the GM and ownership and PR. -

Does it matter? He's making a public statement and it's probably one that the owners share. You would be a fool to think Holland is saying something against ownership opinion. Jeff Moss is a clown. -

If there's any confusion, my post to bump this thread quotes Holland saying that "Zetterberg's jersey will go on the rafters". If this really is Holland's quote then it's 100% that #40 will be retired. The question now remains of #91, #13, #30 -

I'm not sure how legit this is but.. Just ask GM Ken Holland. Speaking with THN’s Ken Campbell on Thursday, Holland made it clear he has no desire to move Zetterberg and chances are he remains a Red Wing until he decides he’s done with the game. If that’s not enough, Holland said, “Zetterberg’s jersey is going in the rafters.” Enough said. http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/active-nhlers-who-are-a-lock-for-jersey-retirement-as-devils-announce-honor-for-elias1 -

Not nearly enough lately He's Apollo, I'm Rocky. And you're Paulie.

Spent 12.3% of his time with Tavares in all situations. Come thru, the burn book's, lit. 1% on even strength. And since your tried to be a Einstein earlier and brought up Zetterberg and Datsyuk. They spent 37% together in all situations (compared to the 12% of Nielsen and Tavares) and 33% on even strength (compared to the 1% between Tavares and Nielsen). Not even close.

We want cup

Now there's a good loss. If Dallas wins the next game we're back in top 5 draft pick position.

Lol I believe it. The problem with those guys is they have good ideas and are very smart but they let their emotions in the way of their judgement or they go far too deep into fantasy pretend land. Case and point this article talking about LTIR people without actual injury. But they are good to use for statistical resources cuz they put the info together pretty well and no one here except maybe Buppy actually does stuff like that.
