Just to put things into perspective here: Stan Bowman gave up Teuvo Teravainen to move Bryan Bickell's contract. Ken Holland went from 16th pick to 20th pick in the draft and on top of that got a 2nd round pick to make up for the lost 3rd round pick. And supposedly Ken Holland sucks and Stan Bowman is god because his father was god.

Remember the 3rd round pick we didn't have this year with the Marek Zidlicky deal? Well Holland just turn's that lost 3rd pick to a 2nd round pick.

Trading Nyquist with the contract might just be enough to offer Stamkos the $12 million Buffalo is likely to offer him actually. Not sure about defenseman or other pieces. We'd still have to make other moves for that.

Still wouldn't give up Nyquist. He's got much more value than cap space deal. I'd rather do 2nd round + Jurco/Pulk

You would trade Pav contract, Nyquist and 2nd just to clear $7.5 million dollars? How about some return?? What if we can't sign s*** with the $7.5? We would lose Nyquist and a 2nd pick for nothing. That's bad management Lefty. If it was Jurco and 2nd round conditional pick on the condition that we land Stamkos then I'd be okay with it. You don't give away picks, players just to move cap space without some guarantee. What if Stamkos ends up re-signing with Tampa and we've struck out and end up with Radulov for $7 million for 2 years or something lol. That's just terrible management. If Holland succumbed to this idiocracy I'll be the first to protest outside his house in Northville to fire him.

Age 30 he scored 58 points Age 31 he scored 48 points Age 32 he scored 30 points What will it be at Age 33 ?? 20 points? He's got one of the worst declines in the NHL. He's comparable to Dustin Brown. At least Brown could score more than 10 goals last season... Filppula scored only 8 lol.

Read my previous post. He scored 30 points and made $5 million. He's awful. He's 32 years old and already in the worst of declines. Mike Green scored more points than him and he's a defenseman. We have younger players who score better than Filpulla and are worth like $1 million dollars. We could bring up Evgeni Svetchnikov and put him on center and he would put up 30 points and we'd have to only pay him like 900k.

He has a $5 million dollar cap hit and scored 30 points. He's terrible. Mike Green a defenseman scored more points than him and Kronwall who played 12 less games scored only 4 points less. It's not happening. I know some of ya'll have the worst of expectations of Holland but Filpulla is a silly suggestion.
