Official 2016 Detroit Red Wings Offseason Thread
kickazz replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Are you sure it's $4 million per year? Because according to his initial contract signing the articles states he makes $9.2 million per year. On Monday, the news came that Radulov signed a four-year contract with the Moscow club. Radulov is set to make 300 million rubles per year, around $9.2 million. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/puck-daddy/alex-radulov-signs-4-khl-contract-nhl-ever-140352749--nhl.html -

Regardless if Wings were listed as one of Stamkos' interested teams. Holland would go for him. He's not the type to pass up on a top 3 player. So regardless of what folks fantasize, the NHL GMs play their cards differently than we do. But like I said. Realistically we have a higher chance of ended up with Radulov + Okposo. But don't kid yourself into thinking Holland doesn't prefer Stamkos -

If the doctors say that his blood clot issue wont be recurring and if Detroit is one of the teams he was interested in.. I'd go for Stamkos over Radulov and Okposo. I think I've been back and forth for like the 10th time in my head about this but... Stamkos is one of the best centers in the world. Building a team around a guy like him would be incredible. Worst case scenario he goes on LTIR. But the worst case scenario with Radulov is he doesn't produce and we pay him 5 million a year for 3 years or something. With Stamkos, as long as he's healthy you're guaranteed some good production. -
Yeah but IIHF competition is relatively weak compared to NHL teams.

Lol. True.Stamkos when at his best, has been regardes as the 2nd or 3rd best player. I guess you really shouldn't pass on that. But I do think our chance of signing Radulov+Okposo is higher than getting Stamkos. -

Do we still want Stamkos with his recent health history. I've been back and forth. -
Datsyuk - someone who works for JLA told me he's sold his house
kickazz replied to WeBleedRed's topic in General
Yeah and it lines up with the Mitch Albom interview where Datsyuk initially wanted to leave after LAST summer but was convinced by Illitches and Holland to stay. Heheheheh. -

Yeah, did you look at the pictures on the website of the interior? Pavs got a good taste. He bought it for $1.25 mill and selling it for $5.25 million! That basically covers the last year of his NHL salary he was supposed to make xD -

He said he wanted to leave for family reasons but his agent later said it's not set in stone. Pavel's quote was "I'm thinking I go home after this season," Datsyuk told Albom. "I may not be done with hockey, but it is hard to say I think I am done playing in NHL."--- He's not going to be retired. He'll likely play in Russia. He's just mentioned that he's likely moving on from NHL. But I think the Wings should move on as well. I've come to peace with it. -

I looked his house up and it's still listed for sale. Price went down by $250k on April 27th though. http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/Bloomfield-Township-MI-48302/house,land_type/70865349_zpid/79114_rid/days_sort/42.593781,-83.290039,42.59031,-83.297013_rect/17_zm/?view=map I'm like 99% sure that's his house. The agent listed is Milstein and the photos of the interior have all sorts of Red Wings pics like Hank/Hull/Datsyuk. Yzerman, and some Datsyuk jerseys. -

Datsyuk said he's leaving the NHL in the Mitch Albom interview lol. There was a small chance that Kenny would have talked him out of it, which Pav was open to but he did say he wanted to leave. Thanks for the info. -
ECF : Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

One of the other reasons I'm cheering for them to win is the one you just stated. Someone will offer him max contract. Someone always does. -

What?? He had 18 points and 3rd highest points on his team in the playoffs -

Wow really? He must be off the blood thinners then. That was quick. -
Sharks and Wings are the biggest West rivalry aside from the Avs? Does Probert, Grimson not ring a bell? Chelios boos at the Joe before he became a Red Wing? Sharks and Wings are not rivals. I guess I was sour about us losing to them in the playoffs but that's as far as that goes. If Blues won - Backes will likely be an expensive free agent. Which means no chance of us acquiring him. If Sharks won - I'd be annoyed. 2011 still stings. If Pittsburgh won - I'd be annoyed. 2009 still stings. If Tampa won - Yzerman gets his 4th Stanley Cup. That's my personal rationale.

Mrazek seems to be a TINY bit of a blabber mouth. I guess he's a good news source on what goes down. They should ask him what team thinks of Blashill. "We are professional but not friendly" But in reality if Mraz didn't feel comfortable with Bedard then I think management made right decision. Although I'm not entirely sure if GR coach for NHL level of play is a good replacement. -

So we know why Bedard was let go of eh? -
Yeaaaa who cares lol. Just another arena. That said though, I'm sure it will be nice on the inside. So I appreciate the construction updates.

ECSF : Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Washington Capitals
kickazz replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Hard to root for St. Louis or Pittsburgh. They were the Red Wings biggest rivals next to the Avs in the last 20 years. I don't prefer to jump on their bandwagon for the finals. Too many memories of Quennville getting outcoached by Scott Bowman. Yzerman vs. Pronger. With Pittsburgh it's obviously the Crosby/Malkin v. Datsyuk/Zetterberg rivalry. I was rooting for Jim Nill's team, but now looks like I'm rooting for The Captains team. -

Crazy looking back. So many people had picked this team to win the cup. "No way anyone's going to beat the Capitals". I think we all underestimated Penguins. They really had been the best team in the league post all-star break. All it took was for Crosby to find his groove and for Kessel to mesh with the new team I guess. This team now has Crosby, Malkin and Kessel. Two top players in the world and one of the best goal scorers in the league. Dam them!
