Bedard's quote made it sound like they weren't interested in renewing his contract
-
Nyquist and the entire team aside from Larkin and Smith had either a subpar or bad season for their standards. Other issues like coaching and management decisions were also displayed. I though this was widely accepted among the team, the press and fans. Almost everyone underperformed this year. Almost everyone had a bad year.
-
Lol let it be dude. After a while when people talk s*** without making any sense it's just good entertainment to see how clueless they present themselves to be. Nyquist had a bad season with the Wings but has been one of the best forwards in the championships. That's that.
-
What momentum? We almost didnt make it in 2015 and in 2014 we got embarassed by Boston first round. We also got embarassed by Nashville in 2012 first round. Blame Blash all you want but Babcock was just as terrible in the playoffs with a BETTER roster.
-
That's what I mean. Oates may already be making more money simply from his current consultant job and may not be interested and Carlyl may not want to work behind the bench. But if they are interested, Holland should seriously consider them.
-
Agreed. Except they'll be looking to get paid and even if that's the case Holland should pay them well. But it seems like a pipe dream.
-
Hire Adam Oates for the offensive position!

I'd prefer an experienced coach. No more rookie coaches for the NHL level please. Blash has got to surround himself with some veteran coaches who are proven for NHL imo. I was questioning Bedard a few months ago as well. We've haven't had consistent goaltending since Osgood in 2009.

Apparently the tournament where most players have half the skill level of NHL players is a good representation..

Lol definitely not sarcasm. I'm shocked that people still don't know what's been going on for nearly a decade. Datsyuk has always had a subpar net front presence , dirty worker on his line. Since 2007 (Tomas Holmstrom). Ya'll in denial or something? Holmstrom Bertuzzi Abdelkader Helm Since 2007 he's had one of those guys on his line. And that includes the two 97 point seasons Datsyuk had. He thrived with players who created space for him. He also had 65 points in 63 games with Helm on his line last year. The best PPG on the roster. -
It would be pretty typical to chose the well known player names for a bandwagon fan rather than not so well known. Don't you know what bandwagoning is? Well known players are known by fans and non fans. Not everyone knows the not so well known players. Most likely only real fans have heard of guys like Nyquist. Tons of my non hockey friends know who Gordie Howe is...For the record he has two other horses named Datsyuk and Zetterberg too.
-
Probably because he's not a typical bandwagon fan. He also has a horse named Mrazek.

It's not loyalty. He wants someone to do the dirty work cause he's a playmaker who needs his space on ice. He doesn't care who it is. He needs big guys on his lines. He even liked having Mantha because of the net front presence. Not to mention Holmstrom way back in the day, -

Yeah Datsyuk has said it a hundred tmes he wanted Helm, Abdelkader and when he didnt have them he even went as far as calling out the coaching staff. Do people tunnel vision facts? Like all people do is blame the coaches but in reality Datsyuk is the one who wants certain linemates. Just because ya'll dont like Helm or Abdelkader doesn't mean Datsyuk doesn't. -

@Bannedforlife. As much as I was an advocate of Datsyuk not declining as much. The playoffs made me realize he can no longer be a first line center. Obviously he didnt decline nearly as bad as Zetterberg did. But there is no way in hell that Datsyuk should be playing 19+ minutes a night in the NHL anymore. Perhaps have AA and Larkin as your 1st and 2nd line centers and slide Datsyuk into third line center with Zetterberg as his winger. Everything else in your post is pretty good. I agree Ericsson should be a forward. -
King Clancy award is by Writers too. I think NHL Foundation award is by another panel of judges.

Yawn. Start a Sweden thread this is a USA v Canada one. Don't need another thread derailed by Swedish mafia, Nyquist sucks, Zetterberg and Kronwall needs to retire whining. ---- USA loses to Canada 5-1. Dylan Larkin was on the first line. Austin Mathews on second line. Larkin wearing #21 and had the 2nd most icetime for USA.

There was one fight I remember that Leroux went turtle mode. It might have been the same season or following season. -

Yeah LTIR is probably best route. But I don't think Kronwall is injured enough to not completely play. Which is why he won't go on LTIR. He's basically injury prone with a bad knee. With Franzen, the guy couldn't even function off the ice. (Apparently he still gets headaches and can't drive on the road time to time)
