To be honest I'm not concerned with our defense. Our defense has declined since Lidstrom left. But we still got through the last 3 seasons. What concerns me is now our offense is dead. Mrazek was literally what was keeping us in it and he's in a slump. Before it was an issue of 1 out of 3 factors. Now it's an issue of all 3 factors. (offense, defense and goaltending). At least we had 2 out of 3 from 2013 -2015

We'll get it eventually. But to start another streak and beat the Boston record may be near impossible in our lifetimes. A cup wont be impossible. Theres always the tanking safety net. But a streak... Theres no guarantee with that.

So what you're saying is he only scored 145 goals from age 31 to age 38 (when he retired) Heh wonder if Ovie would decline that hard. My opinion is that if there's a lot of perfect scenarios for Ovie he can break the record. 1. They reduce goalie pad size or make nets bigger 2. Ovie stays as healthy as he is for the next 14 years. 3. The Caps continue to be a good team 4. There isnt another lockout 5. Even if Ovie is healthy the next 14 years he doesn't lose his goal scoring touch (at least not significantly) Lots of things needed for him to break it. It's not impossible. But probability is another question.
