Sure. That's a good assessment. And let's leave it at that. The issue comes in when people act like he's better than players in their primes i.e players like Datsyuk. Datsyuk in his prime statistically (even if scoring was higher back then) and skill wise was > Toews we see today. It's just the way it is. Toews is great but he's not what Datsyuk was.

I know. Currently Darren McCarty would be considered a better player than Jonathan Toews. You know.. Cuz he has one more Stanley cup (4 cups) to Toews' 3 cups. Hahahahah. Such great logic.

I'm pretty sure Datsyuk had like over a 100 takeaways both years too. Toews can only dream to be OVER a PPG player and do all that work on the other end.

I think cuz it simply wasn't working anymore and Z needed a speedy kid like Larkin to boost him - which it seemed to have done. Also I think cuz Blash wanted Tatar and Nyquist to be able to not rely on D and Z as much and work together moreso. Or something like that.

Not too worried with Larkin out. To be honest our best offense has been Datsyuk and Zetterberg the past like 6 games. What we need is for Mrazek to get back to his grind and the defense to play tight.

Of course. Remember - even The Dominator was heavily criticized in 2008 when he did bad in the first few playoff games and Osgood basically took over. But we still loved Hasek at the end of the day. Tough to be a goalie and even tougher to be an elite one especially since you're expected to be good all the time.
