If you look at it. Blash basically reverted to Babcocks lines. If there's one thing I liked about Babs - it was how he figured out the right guys to optimize the chemistry. He did that with Holmstrom/Zet/Dat back in the day and he did it again with Z/Nyquist/Abby and Tatar/Datsyuk/Helm. Blash seemed to have realized that what he was trying with Nyquist/Sheahan/Tatar simply can't be forced. Both of our current top lines are literally Babcock's design. It just seems to work. And I'm glad Blash went back to it. Now stepping away from crediting the old coach I also want to add that I love how Blash wants his defensemen pinching in on the play. That's something Babcock didn't do. This style of defensemen pushing up imo not only scored some clutch goals for us (Smith from Marchenko few games ago and Dekeyser from Datsyuk two games ago) but it also instills a whole lot more confidence in the younger defenseman.

Wins/losses wise I'm content. Performance wise there's only a few guys that kept us in it. In the beginning of the season it was Zetterberg. Now it's mostly Mrazek and of course Larkin (half season MVP imo). I'm glad the Tatar/Datsyuk/Helm is back in it. So far they look good and if they can keep it up along with the Nyquist/Z/Abby line I can see us finishing behind Washington to end the season. Larkin just seems to shine wherever he is, so I think Sheahan is finally going to do as well as he should be doing. I think Wings should make a big move this trade deadline. We look like a playoff contender but we are not a cup contender imo. If we do make a few moves, barring any injuries, I think we can make a really good playoff run. So far I'd say I'm content. I'd like to see us continue to win and I'd like for us to score more goals per game.

So ironic that happened.

Found this pic on some random guys twitter Red Wings jersey in Saudi arabia. Told you the Wings had fans overseas xD

I think that might be true

Dam that still wouldn't put us below cap I don't think.
-
Thing is we can't afford to bring a player back because were in a salary crunch. That's why he was trying to rid Kindl and get a pick for him instead. Ultimately freeing cap space.Another player wouldn't have helped since we'd just be paying the new guy.
-
It's either a trade to lose some cap money or it's putting Andersson through waivers. I think Andersson has a higher cap hit than Marchenko and is closer to the $1 million Or it's someone getting injured tonight. Which I really don't want.
-
Not even sending Marchenko down would help. His cap hit is only $666 k and they need to relieve 1 million to activate Quincey. I think a trades coming up.

Looks like Mrazek starting against Ducks and Jimmy against LA

Wonder what happened to him. Haven't seen him since the Franzen thread in like september. Pretty good moderator - was always engaged.

I think I'm still on pace for being correct for most predictions. Datsyuk's injury seems to offset the numbers. Looks like I overestimated Green. Hank, Abby, Tatar and Nyquist I think I hit the ball park with. Hanks on pace of hitting exactly 14 goals hahaha. He ended up being a center afterall.

With Montreal and Boston's losses - this would be a really nice win for us. -
Yeah I meant for 6 defenders. Free up a space for Quincey. Not sure why I said "sent down" lol. I mean't 7th guy. Holland always praised Marchenko and so did Babcock. And now you have Blashil pulling out metrics and talking about how Marchenko is one of the best when on ice in "grade A chances against" as he called it. That's why I'm making the bold prediction that Marchenko stays. But practically speaking it's easier for him to be the guy to be scratched, rather than Ericsson. I would love to see Kronwall and Marchenko. Kronner is declining and having Marchenko as his partner might actually help him with his defensive mishaps. Marchenko is the safety net that other D-men need. Recently Smith praised him for that very reason.
-
Oh what the hell.. My bold prediction is that Ericsson will be scratched for Quincey. But I can easily see Marchenko being sent down to free that space up.

Holland has been trying to trade Kindl for approximately 1.5 years. That is a publicly known fact. The following tweet is from about 15 months ago. Kindl just happened to get another shot at it with Blash. Greg Brady ✔@bradyfan590 Told Red Wings are "very active" in taking calls to try & trade Jakub Kindl. Nothing imminent by any stretch, but they are shopping him. 5:01 PM - 7 Oct 2014

Glenny did a good job of keeping him off the puck in the corner. So he went after Glendenning and threw some punches at him. It was pretty douchy even for him. -

And then 23 years from now when he's old and broken it actually becomes true.. And you would have been right all along!! --- Btw, Mrazek was one of three stars of the night last night by the NHL.

I hear crickets. "Good posts"

Love how Kronner went right after Thornton to protect Glenny. Great leader.
