    PP is ran by Ferschweiler I'm pretty sure. And I don't think Oates would get hired - he runs his own individualized "skills coaching" business now it looks like. I think if they hired him our PP would guaranteed be one of the best in the league. He ran the PP really well for 2 years with the caps (ranked 1 and 2 the following year). Caps PP wasnt good before he came in and he helped turn it around basically. But again, I don't think he'll be a coach here.

    Last I heard he was working with NJ but that was last year. He also does personalized coaching with certain players like Stamkos. Basically like a consultant - ish kind of thing except translated into hockey.

    Wow that's amazing. When he coached Washington the Powerplay was number 1 in the league. Wish we could hire him fulltime for PP.

    All I'm going to say is this is. The last time the Red Wings won a Stanley cup. we had a goalie tandem. Osgood and Hasek split 50/50 during the season. Hasek was the starter in the playoffs. He didn't do well the first few games and we switched to Osgood. Osgood did really well. Turns out having 2 goalies with the ability to play at the NHL playoff level works out if one of them doesn't perform well.

    Hmm.. Lead wide scoring has been down the last two years though ? Also I think his production dropped after Martin St. Louis left right? So it could be a combo of both things. edit- just realized we should be discussing this in the 2015/16 league thread. my apologies.

    I don't think either of Nyqusit + Tatar should be in the mix unless we get a superstar (in which is case would obviously be picks and other stuff involved from our end too). Johansen is far from being one at this point in his career. edit - I see you said Nyquist or Tatar. Hmm in that case I still wouldn't do it.

    23 year old that can score 25+ goals a year.. Not even close to his prime yet.. Big guy too. And he's a right handed centerman. Which helps our core imo. Id rid Sheahan and Pulk for him for sure. or Sheahan + Pulk/Jurco + Kindl

    Why even ask that question.. The guy is the purest goal scorer next to Ovechkin. I doubt it would happen. Do we even have the cap space? Richards will be gone and if Franzen is LTIR - we still have to resign a few guys next year including Mrazek. We'd have to part ways with a bunch of people. I guess I'd be willing to do that for Stamkos but I'm not sure of our salary cap - someone would have to do that math. This will easily be a 12 mill + deal to make...
