That spot problem is not going to improve next year, at least not before the deadline. the season after next, '19-'20, with Kronwall of the books and Ouellet (likely) not re-signed, that's the first year with spots possibly available (under condition nobody gets moved out, or comes in, before that, ofc).

On average of our votes here so far, he gets a B-, which is the right grade in my opinion. Would give him even more if I had proof that there really wasnt anything possible regarding Green.

4.5/2 would be my target. I don't like the 3 years, initially...we tend to "overterm" (<-is that even a word?) and that needs to change moving forward.

No need to hate on Green. If we somehow get Dahlin, or another young D, we need Green to be around here and get extended. Why? Because we need at least one D with skills on the team, that youngsters can learn from.

Maybe it was because a) Tatars contract is worse and b) KH possibly looks to cash in on Goose as a deadline rental next year? Grade A for this trade, no doubt. I like Tatar, but with this return, it's just a no-brainer. -
I don't know. As much as I liked the Smith-return, I thought we didn't get enough for Vanek, so...

Plus, when we were buyers, he couldn't buy good...which makes me fear, he can't sell good, either... I just hope Smith sets the example and KH proves me wrong.

To me, Tatar IS a bad contract and if you can move him for a reasonable return, you do it.

Exactly...biases? What biases? It's the complete opposite, more like groundhog day. But, I really liked the return in the Smith-trade. So I'll wait for tomorrow before I push KH off the cliff..

I agree it's close up there, and I like Morey, too. What singles out Ainge in my opinion is how fast he managed to overhaul an old championship roster into a young contender with a new title window for years. And without being completely bad or tanking for years in the meantime. Helped a lot by Brooklyns idiocy, for sure, but that's always part of the game. -

If I recall correctly, the Sedins only wound up both in Vancouver, because the Canucks GM insisted to other GMs, that they would only be coming as a package, which wasnt even true because they actually expected to be split up and taken by different teams. If that was an acting job, it was absolutely great.
