Big doesn't mean tough. Dude has a leg cramp and gets carried to the locker room in years, cries for a foul whenever he's touched. NHL player spits out a broken tooth or has a cracked leg bone and keeps playing. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

It'd be a damn shame to expose another overpaid bum Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

One was useless, one was a dime a dozen guy. I included both to show that both types of players can be found. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

LeBron wouldn't last a shift in the NHL even if he could skate and had ability. NBA players a pansies. "I have a cramp, carry me to the locker room!!!! Waaaaah!!!!" Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

Depends on the assets given up. If he can be had for something like Frk and a 3rd you have to pull the trigger. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

There is no "hint that he has an itch to return." He basically said if he DID go back to the NHL it would be Detroit or nothing.

2017 Stanley Cup Finals: Nashville Predators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
DickieDunn replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Every fan of the team that loses cries about officiating. When the Wings were good and fans were crying about a supposed anto-Detroit conspiracy other fans were crying about a supposed pro-Detroit conspiracy. The reality is officials are human beings on the ice seeing the game at full speed trying to make calls on a crowded rink, and they're going to miss calls. I've reffed in a rec league. It's a hell of a lot harder than it looks. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk -

Preds player had his skate off the ice before the puck was in the zone. The rules say it's off-sides. The rule should probably be adjusted somehow, but it was the right call. Rinne giving up a goal after not seeing a shot for that long isn't surprising. Any goalie will tell you it's hard to sit and not get any action for an extended time. -
I said for every Rafalski there are a dozen or more Leinos and Lebdas. Lebda was nothing special. He was a dime a dozen player. He did an OK job in a limited role on a stacked team. Nowhere did I say it "didn't work out." Maybe you need to work on reading comprehension.

Glendening is a replaceable part made almost immovable by a stupid contract. They should be able to easily move on from guys like him and Helm because they're on cheap short term deals. Instead both are signed 2 years too long for $800k + too much money. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

Worst case scenario he scores around 5 goals and has no more value than Nosek. Best case he scores 15 and is valuable to the team either winning or as a trade chip. I don't think that's far fetched.
-
He has a history of being a decent 3rd line center. One bad year doesn't erase that, but his value right now is still pretty low. If he comes back and has 10 goals and 12 assists or something at the deadline they could probably get a 2nd rounder for him. Nosek, best case scenario, is he's as good as Glendening. There's no value there.
-
I really doubt that the teams wouldn't have done what they did this year if the trade hadn't been made. The only difference is that the Habs fans would be foaming at the mouth trying to blame Subban for flaming out and the Preds fans would be pumping Weber up as some All Time Great. Montreal fizzled because of reasons other than Weber and Nashville advanced because of a great team defense and getting enough timely scoring for the first time in their history. This isn't the NBA where one superstar is the team and everyone else defers to him.

Sheahan has more value than Nosek and is likelier to be taken. If I was Vegas and my choices were XO, Sheahan, or someone ona bad contract, I'd probably take Sheahan hoping that he bounces back with a new team and I can move him at the deadline. Nosek would have zero value to me unless I wanted to stock the farm team. They won't need to get cheap young 4th liners, because they're probably not going to be anywhere close to the cap. In fact, they're probably going to want a couple guys on bloated deals just to get to the floor.
-
AHL stats don't mean a guy will be an NHL player. I haven't seen much that makes me think Nosek will be more than a so so 4th liner at best. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

I didn't say he wasn't a good signing, I said he was a dime a dozen player. You're acting like he was a key part of the Cup teams.
-
That article sums up why Helm and Glendening shouldn't have gotten the contracts they did very nicely. I protect Sheahan over Nosek though, I don't think there's any way in hell Vegas takes Nosek and if Sheahan turns things around they might be able to get a 2nd or 3rd for him at the deadline.

Why did Green? Everyone "knew" he was going to get some stupid mega deal right up until he signed with Detroit for 3 years. but you're right, he probably wouldn't, so I don't want any part of him here
-
IF they trade Green at the draft or can somehow dump Ericsson, and IF Shattenkirk would accept a 2 or 3 year deal at $5 mil or so, I'd be ok with it. Only in those circumstances.
-
I compliment players when they deserve it. Lebda did an ok job in a very limited role
-
76 points in 397 career games, mostly when he was being carried by one of the best teams in the NHL. When he went to a lesser team he flamed out. That's not much. You convinced me. BART LEBDERP FOR THE HALL OF FAME!!!!!!!

Lebderp was an easily replaced 3rd pair D. Just because they kept him until he was unrestricted doesn't mean he was valuable in any meaningful way. If he was as good as you seem to think he would have played more than 70 some odd NHL games after leaving. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

What I meant was he was nothing special, just a guy who could play a small role on a good team for not much money, then did nothing after he left. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk
