Red Wings Expansion Draft Protected List

Turned to hH (hate Holland) threads quickly. But everyone saw it coming obviously. Yes. And to negotiate trade scenarios. McPhee won´t pick Mrazek just because he can (he has Fleury and some other cheaper options), he must have some real proposal from another team. AND there it goes: why should, let´s say, Arizona or Flyers ´trade´ with Vegas for Mrazek? They could call directly do Holland telling him they have some proposal with LV to re-trade Mrazek and if maybe Holland could make direct trade two days later to don´t let go Petr for free and Ari/Phi get better price than with Vegas. Vegas situation is quite tricky at the end.. Picking just for obtaining trade chips could slide their trading value leaving Vegas with pack of unwanted players and if we´re speaking about 2Gs, then there´s absolute no need to hurry, teams could wait to TDL easy. I don´t believe there´s no plan behind leaving Mrazek unprotected, that was too no-brainer even for Holland. Dallas need to get rid of Lehtonen and they´re open to trade their 3rd OA. I don´t believe Petr will go for free if he´s going somewhere. If yes then facepalm, proper owner would kick him instantly in that case.

Mrazek will be picked by VG, clear as a hell. Jimmy wouldn´t have any bigger trade value Mrazek has.

    Drouin for Sergachyov

Tampa has already good offensive setup with some very nice looking guys down there in x-HLs, hence loosing such a gem in Drouin for real top defensive project (what thery are looking for) is ´high risk, but high potential of top reward´ . Not speaking about Sergachev is exempt from ED and has two more years on elc. There´s not a lot of teams who actually could risk such a move, but Bolts are in this group.

    2017 Draft

His year in Brno (coached by Zabransky, btw) was quite good, don´t look on numbers only. Brno won czech cup, it was pretty tough for him to compete for higher ice time. (Necas asist.) ..hope videos working fine

    Interview with Petr Mrazek

Few shots from Tatar... Q: Surgery was postponed for a long time.. T: Yes, it was. I was struggling a lot. I was able to play, but wasn´t very comfortable. I was not able to my job on the ice. Surgery was obviously needed. Hopefully I decided to go for surgery right after season´s end. I was not sure if I can finish the season. I´ve found physiotherapist there in Detroit and he saved the rest of the season, fixing my shoulder. ... Q: Last season was really bad for Wings, no p-o after 25 years. Next one should be better, right? T: Sure. Last one was pretty bad, everybody pretty sad about that, fans as well. Everything has it´s end. We didn´t want it that way, but injuries together with bad form.. one thing together with another ones and we didn´t make it. Q:. Still solving the contract with Detroit? T: Yes, still working on it, obviously we have plenty of time. First priority is draft, then expansion draft for Las Vegas. Our GM Holland has hard days right now. My contract isn´t priority at the moment. Yes, well, I´d like to solve it out, for sure, but I´m patient, don´t want to hurry. Both sides need something, me as well. Q: GM Holland had some good words on you during WC2017. Do you expect smooth negotiation? T: I don´t expect major roadblocks. For sure I don´t want to go under some price, as well as Holland doesn´t want to overpaid. But it´s common. I´ve got good relationship with Kenny and it should be fine. + 2 more questions about his rehabs, but not interesting. Way different approach and answers like last time, obviously he knows he has limited value with his shoulder at the moment.

    Interview with Petr Mrazek

There´s good interview with Mrazek in czech newspapers, I´ll try to translate, but excuse my english if required , ehehe.. http://hokej.idnes.cz/petr-mrazek-rozhovor-0t2-/nhl.aspx?c=A170131_173557_nhl_ald Q: Petr, how do you do? And I don´t mean it as a formal phrase. M: Everybody know how do we stand and it´s affecting my performance and team as well. If we were performing by our best, we wouldn´t be last in our division. But the league is quite balanced, sometimes we loose the game by one, two goals.. But in a fact, it´s exactly like it was predicted in pre-season (to miss the play-off for the first time in last 25 yrs) Q:What´s the reason? Psychics? M: No, it´s not about psychics. There are certain things in the team which must be changed. And then - once these changed..when team is rebuilt.. it will be once again Detroit as used to be. [edit: certain things instead of some things, which could maybe change the meaning] Q: Many teams felt to their knees when rebuilding. Is Detroit right now just waiting for it´s end? M: Yes, every team is rebuilding time to tome and now it´s Detroit´s turn after 20 years of non-rebuilding. And maybe lot of people were expecting Wings continue like this. But, let´s see Chicago, Boston, Pens - they sacrified play-offs to rebuild. And now it´s our turn. Also US journalists must understand that it´s the time. If we want to have some real future and play for top position, something must be done right now. Q: ..and if not? M: Then we can easily play the middle of the table and it should be nice-looking. But, we still didn´t make it to the second round in last three years, so obviously it was not so good. [actually, this one doesn´t make any sense in original] Q: But lot of critics out there. You´re a goalie, you are visible the most. M: That´s about psychics, but I have no issue with that. That´s my strong point, I can easily throw it off me and go on. I don´t mind bad matches. Nothing is really bothering me, not even stuff local writers are writing here. Then you can see it in CZ, translated. But I have a feeling they are trying just to turn me on. But I don´t care. Q: Now you can explain something. Like the story on mlive.com, that you declined to stay longer on the training. "Is he turing to be a bad guy", was the journalist asking. M: If that guy has asked me, I would anwer him. But he heard something, met me, but was like nothing happened. I woudn´t had an issue to explain that and chat. Only coaches know. It was optional training, in playing day, I was there for 45 minutes. Guys who´re not playing stay on the ice, rest is going to home. Q: Media speaking also about your trade. M: Yes, Helene St.James from Detroit Free Press mentioned that. Of course, everyone could be traded. But I will be 25, and if they want to rebuild the team, I wouldn´t expect young players to be traded. Most likely they will be trading the older ones. But in the other hand, it´s still a bussiness. Nothing is going to happen if I´m traded. No tragedy, but challenge in new team. Q: Third point..your new contract. ´He has a new contract and he´s not trying hard anymore´, they´re saying... M: Yes, local journalist making a story of it, trying to poke the players. These are critics opinons, but these who do understand hockey - played hockey, they know how it´s working. Last year, I was without a contract and I was playing good, nobody gave a note. If you´re in a good team, you´re good too. If you´re first in division, all the stats are nice. When you´re last, it´s visible also. Q: Are you changing your style currently? M: it´s not like I´m changing it, but adjusting it. We´ve got to react on how NHL has changed. Game become faster with young players, but these are not only skating up and down, but playing the puck very well, hence we´ve been working on positioning. Trying to be more aggressive, to read the game better, when go out and when stay back. I have new goalie coach and I must say that I´m feeling much better than last year. I´m more sure and faster. Q: Isn´t that sort of paradox? M: No, it´s based on the whole team. Our best guys have twelve goals after fifty games. It´s like it is. There are worst teams that us, but not under fire like we are. It´s because we´re in Detroit and it´s the Hockeytown. Q: Coach Blashill speaks with you? What´s your relationship right now? M: Well, I would say that we had good relationship back in Grand Rapids. Other players would say the same. Now it has changed little bit, but I don´t want to go deeper. Q: There was a free weekend during All-Star game, did you have a chance to relax? M: Oh yes, I was to Florida with Sara (gf, voleyballlist Sara Olivovova), she´s preparing there for a season there already. There was also David Pastrnak, Voracek, Pavelec, so we relaxed. We didn´t speak about hockey. Q: Okay, now the question NHL players don´t like during the season, but I´ve got to - what about you and world championship? M: NHL is a priority, but the reality is obvious. We´re not close to even think about play-offs. I´d glad to go there, if I´m invited, for sure.

Who has been the Red Wings MVP in the last 25 years?

It´s another neverending story about ´who is THE best´, but if question was ´Who was the most impacting player during his MVP era?´, it´d be simply Fedorov.

    Targets for the Wings

No, Green would be good on the line with guys who will support him moving the puck avoiding stupid turnovers in neutral zone and disturbing opponent combinations in o-zone. With these guys the first idea should be how to maximize their abilities and output based on their play, somewhere on the third or fourth place should be the concern how to cover their brain farts. Means - without the possession you´re only solving the consequence. I´m just asking myself, whether Wings coaching staff is able to drive real pmd or not. What I can see now is more like "You shall not pass!!! .. your own circle with the puck" system.

8th D for Czech repre. during WC. Last year spent in EBEL league playing for czech Znojmo. This league is even worst than czech league, best producing D in EBEL league was Piché this year. You know that guy.

Your bold selection for next year, ya?

    Shattenkirk

This is good reality. Somebody is going to overpaid him despite the fact he was nearly like third pairing guy for Blues with high power-play minutes. I´d love to see him on Wings PP, but not for 6-7M per.

Wings Sign Free Agent Goalie Matej Machovsky

Machovsky is considered to be one of the best (still) talents in czech league. Playing from Pilsen (team generally known for very good goaltending development), his numbers were quite good (over 92% with less than 2.3 average) in terms of playing for soft defending team allowing over 1300 shots during his 46 games season (they are 35 SA totally). He had couple offers from KHL, he had also another NHL offer, btw.

Wings In Running For Victor Ejdsell

...as far as the most of ´european gems´ were picked in times when not a lot of teams had full-time european scouts. Nowadays, it´s impossible to pick new Lidscyukberg from 150+ OA unless you´re lucky.

Wings In Running For Victor Ejdsell

Dopita was a diamond, but came to NHL too late. He had no motivation to prove himself to be a good player on NHL level, while he achieved a lot at home. He was not prepared to start in 3rd line to start grinding from the scratch. Simply - his NHL overseas mission was misunderstanding and ´lost in translation´ case. He´s not the best example for this topic.

    2017 NHLTrade Deadline Discussion

Don´t forget to do the simple math, like resigning Tatar for 4M AAV will take actually only 1.250M from this budget. AA, XO, Jensen will get some 2yrs bridges. Don´t count with Jurco.

    Marchenko ?

Well, they have Rielly, Gardiner, Marincin and Carrick already meeting exposure requirements, so this doesn´t make any sense. I was surprised that Carolina didn´t take him for exactly this reason (they have only Faulk).

    Interview with Petr Mrazek

Yes, but.. later then it was confirmed that Ken never spoke to Stamkos. Nor even Shanahan did. There was ZERO chance Stamkos is going elsewhere, Stamkos confirmed he didn´t even think about moving, whole story was done by journalists. So, Holland wasn´t even in touch with Stammer and made that Chychrun move anyway, which was later then reported as Chayka´s/Arizona idea (no source), not Holland´s. I do agree these reactions on Holland´s move are sometimes dumb, but I can´t hardly remember day when Holland hit that ball. Everybody´s missing the balls time to time, like my wife, like Nill with goaltending - nobody´s perfect unless you have Bowman as your family name, but couple last seasons Ken started to miss the ball very frequently and still considered as a one of the best GMs there.

02/12 GDT : at Minnesota Wild 6, Red Wings 3

..and this game shown that average. I don´t think it was that bad game, would be quite good example for somebody who´s looking for ´show me 16/17 Red Wings edition in 60 minutes´. Bad point is, that this average is really worth last conference place.
