lol I knew the toronto media frenzy feeders would have us coming here to lol at their wishful trhinking, just saw a clip on tsn don't remember the guys cuz I am drinking and multitasking for one, and not that familiar with tsn crew mainly cuz I just do an occasional check of the website; but the main commentator made this point and I whole heartedly agree: Babs doesn't need another project, he has one with the wings, and that project is starting to bear fruit. My one disclaimer would be that in a world driven by pursuit of plunder, there may be a tipping point where the amount overcomes the feeling of "I've got enough". Hopefully management can get babs under wraps at season's end.

I always thought jagr would fit in here well, you remember we were one of the teams considered in on the signing a few years ago but honestly we shoulda got him then when we needed him more, he can play the back and forth game, hang on to the puck make plays, and shoot. But not a high level player as consistently anymore. Not really what we need right now with a team of bottom sixers. We need a power 1st or 2nd liner O-man who can push the puck deep and assist/score. And a quality 1st or 2nd D man would be nice also. Will anything happen? No. Kenny is a one trick pony, multiple deals won't happen; only a medicore trade at best and I only see that if we get big injury, and we will over pay. Holland hasn't broken the mold and he won't this year, look for a playoff entry and exit, and drafting. Same broken record. Over the last couple years I thought the aging of our superstars would push management to make sure we were a top tier contender, but now I see they won't and we will only be a middle of the pack team, like many other hockey fans I have heard say. The focus from management is obviously NOT "win now". They will let the chips fall where they will as long as we make the playoffs. *edit typo

Being a southerner and no Atlanta team to pull for the Preds are a sub team to cheer for. Also my brother and I met Peter Laviolette at the All Star game when it was in Atlanta he was really nice and accomodating let us take pics with him. My bro is a flyers fan so he liked pete from the flyer days. Good for nash and pete and southern hockey.

Panthers coach and former Wing Gerard Gallant interviewed after 1st, on Fox, during Florida vs Columbus game Monday night : spoke about his debut as head coach of Columbus and subsequent firing and minors coaching to a return to the NHL (when asked by Fox reporter) spoke about his days as a Wing, reporter mentioned Stevie Y and Probert and Kocur era; when asked, mentioned the playoff series against the Oilers Gretzky era playoffs and how they came close to knocking the dynasty over my overall impression announcers hyping tomorrow nights game (in more times than the interview), seems odd to me but prob because I am a Wings fan; from a marketing perspective why not hype it up still got tickets to sell and the current game is underway - I guess money wins guess I haven't really noticed it before..sure a couple different factors in there but I digress thoughts from early in game Columbus Johansen sets up off wall and dashes to middle on rink wide give and go CLB set up a right hand shot on pp against FLO goalie Montoya (LH goalie) Ekblad average on D but on PP held blue line , makes a move to get goalie moving, reverses and shoots thru a staggered screen Wings been looking good lately so Let's Go Wings!!

I hate it for u wingsfanatic I live in the south and since the Thrashers went to winnie they consider nashville which is like 400 miles away is blackout territory. That is why I only paid one year for the service, the trouble the regulations and restrictions in place make it almost unfeasible to get the service you expect. If there is a game I want towatch within a state or two of me it's blacked out. *any spelling nazi's on the board notice the proper use of it"s ... loll

I love the wings but u people know this is a big rivalry for toronto as well and we are on their ice. Predicting 4-4 going to overtime and a Leafs win in OT or shootout. Hopefully I am wrong but I wonder if our OT and shootout record will improve over last year. ** edit to add - plus the fact that friday night is allright for fighting..could be a tilt LGW!!!

Didn't see this mentioned in the game thread, and don't have a link, however I did see the interview between periods of the Maple Leafs game. Mick asked a few questions, can't remember them specifically, but the big one I do remember is Holland telling Mickey that "he is expecting to make a trade by the end of the first half of the season". They followed up with some clips of ferraro and callahan, not sure if they were implying those two. Anyone else see the interview? Can't remember if Holland was referencing a RH Dman. What are your thoughts?

When I lived out there, I went to a lot of casinos sport books. Then I went to a casino that didn't have one. I asked about it and was told one of the owners had a stake in a nfl team and gaming law prohibited a casino owner having a sports book if they held ownership in a sports team. That is probably part of the reason. I wouldn't mind a team in Vegas I love the place there are large suburbs(?) near as well as Clark air base. Just wish they hadn't pulled Atlanta, after 2 yanks I don't think the folks up there are going to be willing to support another one. I only went to about ten games. I live 300 miles away. But the stands were never empty when I went and when the wings were in town red wing fans filled that place. * Nellis base I mean Clark was overseas got mixed up lol

I went to vegas about 14 years ago, remember seeing a vegas minor league jersey in a second hand shop so they have had some exposure to the game. I was in Seattle a couple of years ago, and I heard the talk about a team there back then as well. I don't mind expansion, but after the league brought and then took away 2 teams from Atlanta (closest place to where I live) I don't really care. If you aren't going to commit to their presence then don't bother is my opinion. The league is doing a horrible job on the fans, and the pay television nhl is crazy, blacking out games that are states away from me. I used to go to games and spend money but now I don't, have no reason to, the league obviously cares not that there is a couple of fans in Alabama lol.
