I was just thinking how many good goalies will most likely be exposed in the Vegas draft. Most teams have two starter calibre goalies and can only protect one. Vegas won't be like SJ or OTT who only got 8 wins in their first season or two. They'll be right in the playoff hunt i think with other teams developed players. It's kinda bulls***, but that's how it goes.

Yeah. They should get Howard to shoot Hextall style. Maybe it takes a weird bounce and gets in there.

The 2014 WC is easily the nicest. The one with the big D and the huge numbers on the sleeves is pretty bad, although the alumni version looks alright. I also dig the ones from the NHL 75th season.

I like those lines, besides Larkin and AA having to play with the bottom of the roster. Why not roll Larkin-AA-Jurco, then Ott-Sheahan-Glendening? Hopefully Jimmy has a solid game after his past two starts.

I agree they played hard last night and got the win in a high scoring game, but we've seen these supposed "turning points" a few times already this season. Not long after they get back to the kinda play we saw against the Coyotes three games ago. They CAN get it done if they want and if Blashill isn't screwing s*** up, but they must play hard like that every night an have some luck as well. I dunno if they can do that, and they seem short on luck.

Truth. Howard finally earns his paycheck this season and everyone's like screw Mrazek. The only reason there is a conflict is Howard blew it so many times that Mrazek was able to come up and steal starts. Gotta give him credit for coming up and taking a spot instead of only being promoted because he was out of waiver exemptions too. If Howard had been as solid as he is this season the past three years, Mrazek would be his unquestioned backup and this whole thread wouldn't exist. Instead, Howard is 99.9% gone after this season.

No he's not spending less, but with the state of the franchise right now and being basement dwellers while at the cap, and how Illitch likes the The Streak and winning, you'd think he'd get fired up and tell Holland to start fixing s*** or his job is on the line. But all is quiet. So some think he's put the Wings on the backburner for the time being.

I happen to be a Tigers fan myself, so i'd be happy with a WS for sure. Rather see the Wings win Cups though, but that's what happens when the team owner also owns a baseball team. He needs to decide where to pool the most resources depending which franchise is in the better position to win. Even then, right now he's at the cap with the Wings, so not much more he can do there. He's given Holland plenty to work with. Holland just screwed it up.

It was inevitable. I'm pretty sure that every other team in the league has missed the playoffs at least once since the cap was introduced. The Wings have been fortunate enough not to, but keeping that going has screwed the roster up pretty bad. So instead of maybe one or two years, we might be looking at a few years to get back in contention. Just gotta roll with it. Or don't. Whatever.

Holland should have kept Dats' contract on the books and snagged Chychrun instead of shedding salary to sign a "replacement". Wouldn't need to worry bout Nielson's contract, and they'd have a big talented hard hitting D prospect who is NHL ready or very close to it. I bring that draft day move up a lot, but it's a real piss off, especially with the team going nowhere fast. I never expected Chychrun to still be there when the Wings picked. It was like fate. Then Holland had to go f*** it all up.

He seems more interested in getting the Tigers a World Series at this point. Which I don't blame him for, it's been over 30 years. He's a lot closer to winning there than he is with the Wings right now. He neglected the Tigers for a long time while the Wings were winning Cups. But it must piss him off that he's spending up to the cap for the Wings to be a bottom feeder.
