Why would insiders think he was going to Detroit if Holland didn't even end up getting a damn meeting with him? Makes you wonder where they get this "insider" info from.
-
Edmonton looking pretty good tonight. Not looking forward to playing them tomorrow. They're finally starting to get their s*** together up there..tons of scoring, picked up some tough forwards, finally got some D (Hey Holland, Larsson may have cost Edmonton Hall, and they may have lost the trade, but that's how you get good players you need to fill holes. Take note.), got a solid starting goalie in Talbot. Once they finally changed the old boys 80's dynasty club for better coaching and management, it's come together pretty quick. Maroon-McDavid-Eberle Pouliot-Nugent Hopkins- Pulijujarvi Lucic-Draisaitl-Kassian Lander-LeTestu-Pitlick Klefbom-Larsson Sekara-Gryba Nurse-Benning Talbot Gustavsson Not bad.
-
True. But if eating the 7+ million for one season meant getting top ranked D prospect who they'd have for years who is compared to Scott ******* Stevens in regards to how hard he plays and how he hits, you'd think anyone with even the slightest hockey knowledge would see that's something we desperately need. I know I could deal.

I never thought the Wings had a chance at Stamkos. I didn't think any team besides Tampa did. Why would he want to leave a team that contends for the cup yearly to go to a rebuilding team? He could have gotten Chych. Dats' cap hit wouldn't have been a big deal for one season. This team isn't winning the cup anyways. Nielson def was his backup plan, but they could have done without him and still got Vanek. f*** Holland.
-
I figured he would. Mrazek def needs to be better. When I saw his GAA before last nights game i was shocked it was over 3.00. For now i'll take it game by game with Howard..he's got alot to prove. Yes, even though he has only 3 GA in 3.5 games... The D corps on this team are gonna give whoever is in net fits all season either way unless changes are made. Only this team would drop 3 straight after winning 6 straight.
-
Of course he wouldn't. Errorsson and broken down Kronwall play before XO and Sproul already. Chych wouldn't get a chance for a few years. I knew Holland got fleeced on the Dats salary dump by missing out on Chych (he probably wouldn't have picked him anyways though lol) and getting a D that may never make the Wings roster and taking on Vitale's hit. They got Vanek (who they could have afforded either way), and Nielson for too much money and term when they could have found another team to trade Dats' contract to looking to add cap, or toughed it out for one season. But Kenny just couldn't do the right thing and take Chych at #16 then deal with the Dats contract later. Instead he panicked.

He's started 3, but that's what i'm saying...put Howard in, but I can't see him continuing to allow one goal or less a game if he gets a good string of starts. Most of the reason he is playing well i think is because he hasn't had to play much, and he knows Mrazek is going to get the blame if the team isn't winning. Or I could be wrong and he keeps up his play and takes the number 1 job back..but it's extremely hard to have confidence in that happening due to what we've seen from him the past few years.
-
Yeah, maybe a game more than others around the league at this point. Still nothing to go on really. Either way, I think people have too much confidence in Howard based off a small sample size this season compared to what he's done in the past few. There's a reason he's been the borderline starter/backup for awhile now. But I guess ya never know...
-
I bet you were happy with him when he won the 6th straight in the long shootout against the Blues. No goalie should have to stand on their head all the time. Why even have defence then. Just ice three forwards and a goaltender. Can't really say any of the goals tonight were his fault entirely. People are so quick to blame our goalie when we have the worst D corps in the league with Jonathan Errorsson the third highest paid on it. He wouldn't even be in the NHL on most other teams.
-
His stats in three whole games? If you want to use cushioned backup goaltender stats to back up why he should start, fine. He's doing well without the pressure of being the #1 on his shoulders. But i'll look at his performance over the past few years when he had shot after shot at regaining his starting spot, and lost it over and over. Last season he was barely a .500 goalie. Maybe this season would be different, but the stats don't lie that he most likely can't handle the job anymore. I'm not against him starting a few games in a row, but I think the pressure would get to him again and he'd be in the backup spot again before long.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL
-
I'd blame the D more than him, but yeah, he can be better for sure. If he can't handle being #1..who can? And don't say Howard.
-
And icing LOL
-
Yeah Sheahan has been brutal. Just another 6'4 230lb'er on the Wings who plays like he's the size of Tyler Johnson. But at least Johnson scores goals. Wheeler is tossing the Wings around single-handed. Well, that's it. Thanks E, you f***in pylon!!!
-
Yeah, he was given wayy too much time to roof that puck. Right after the go ahead goal too. Sucks indeed.
-
What are you talking about? lol
-
Ahh s***...another review. 3-3.
-
ABBYYYYY!!! HELL YEAHHHHH!!!
-
Smaller pants for goalies coming soon? Good. Now only if they'd chop the pad height down to just above the knee like they once were. Brian Elliott is one of the only goalies that actually wears equipment that fits him.
-
Maybe Mrazek s*** his pants? But I was thinking a shadow. Now that i've seen the clear replay they had in Toronto, was def in. It's nice to be able to actually see it, instead of just going off crappy replays.
-
So no penalty shot, then nothing besides a post on the PP. The war room has a conclusive shot of the puck over the line now apparantly. Not that it matters..
-
What? lol
-
That's a dark spot..not a puck. It probably is the puck though. Damn. The team allowed too many chances on that puck though..Mrazek did what he could.
-
If they lose the game because of that that's bulls***. If you can't see the puck over the line, you can't say it's a goal. What they could have done was ask Mrazek to get up off the ice without moving...then they'd know for sure.

Ya DeKeyser screwed the pooch there. WTF??? Really?? That's a goal???
