    Not trying to defend Holland, but Richards was a veteran former 90 point star player coming off a cup win with Chicago, and came pretty cheap. He took a chance, something many people say he needs to do more.

    Yeah, if he announced his retirement following the playoffs..whenever they end for the Wings, I would have respect for the fact he realizes he can't keep up anymore, that his salary will hold the team back, and it's time to go. But that's not happening. He was one of my favourite players, but every year he plays while in decline just makes me wish he was gone more and more.

    Tested, but not greatly. Wings have had some great chances, but always shoot low. The guy is huge..when he's down there's no room except where....ABOVE!!!

    He also won the Smythe while on the losing team in the Finals. And yeah, his gear was always bigger than regulation, even after the crackdown on size, and he always got away with it. His chest protecter stuck a foot straight out from his chest

    I thought Richards would be big for them this series, but besides the first two he hasn't done anything. He's probably happy seeing those huge U F A letters coming closer and closer.

    Pulk could, but he still can't get it off quick enough in the NHL. Plus he doesn't play because he brings nothing but that shot. PK....great.
