Does'nt take long for a star to fall once it begins with all the hungry young players who want their spots and the parity in the league now. Points are so important you don't really have much time to devote to nursing a players career back to form, especially a goalie. Close.

Yeah I agree, look at guys like Lundqvist. They don't sit much. No reason Mrazek shouldn't have started, especially coming off a SO.

If Holland is desperate to get rid of Howard, he has other options than a trade. Howard has a NTC, not a NMC(he did but it expired)..he could waive him and see if he gets picked up. If he does'nt, bury him in the minors. He could also buy him out I think. Not really sure of the rules on that.

I honestly think McCollum needs a fair shot. I was honestly worried for awhile that Holland would trade Mrazek to keep Jimmy happy or because he "believes in him". lol

Should make him watch some Derian Hatcher highlights..there was a big hard hitting defenceman with a mean streak. I still wish Hatch was a Wing for longer than he was, but cap issues just came in to effect and all.

Normally i'd worry about losing Kronwall, but not this time. He needs a rest. We have guys that can cover what he currently brings to the team. No big deal.

Ya, the Malarchuk incident was crazy. Skate to the throat, then you seem whip his mask off on his knees and put his hand on his throat and it's just pouring blood. Thankfully for the quick action my the medics and doctors, he lived. Haven't seen anything like it since. After I saw that I started wearing a throat protector and a dangler on my mask.

Winnipeg has some great goaltending prospects. Hellebuyck, Hutchinson, Comrie. I doubt they'd take Howard and his contract with three years left in exchange for Pavelec who has one year left on a cheaper deal, then he's probably gone. They won't have any use for Howard, and they'd be stuck with him. Detroit would absolutely have to sweeten the deal somehow, if Winnipeg would even agree to talks. I would'nt even say Howard is the better goalie. As for Carolina, if they don't resign Ward, they still have Lack, who is def good enough to be the number one guy, which may have been the plan when they traded for him. Again, not much use for Howard there. The rest are def possibilities, although Buffalo purposely traded for Lehner as one of the players to rebuild around. Doubt he's going anywhere.

Didn't see the game, but it sounds like the Wings did alright. They've got the goaltending, they just need the goals. Especially facing Neuvirth and only one goal in the game, the 1 in the shootout. Gotta find a way. The PP is a good place to start. Least they got a point.

Good deal for both sides. At $4.17 million for 3 years, it gives them a solid goaltender without paying too much, and the three year term won't handcuff them if he regresses(not that I think he will), and Talbot gets a bit of security and a nice payday, The Oilers have needed a solid #1 for years, now they finally have one locked up.

Domingue looked a step behind on the play. He was set in the net, but did'nt anticipate the pass. i agree it was a great shot by DeKeyser!! Perhaps bouncing the puck off Domingue's pad was'nt a planned move, but it sure looked that way when you watch that gif.

Wow I can just sit and watch that forever!! It's awesome to be really excited about a rookie for the first time in a long time. Without him, who knows where the Wings would be. He's showing he's for real. The All-Star game sucks, but it's great that he got the nod. Easily the best player on the team this season. Keep it up Larks!! Just noticed it looks like he screwed up the goalie by bouncing it off his pad on purpose then grabbing the rebound then eventually getting it to the open man while the yotes were all fixated on him. I dunno if i've seen that before. That's smart stuff.
