Missed most of the game, but saw some of the third, then had to take off again with 5 min left. Glad to see they hung on. Mrazek played out of his mind, and Luke's goal was sweet. On to Game 2. Gotta bring Tampa's shot count down, or get some more on their net. 44-14 is insane. -

Just turned the game on. What a goal by Luke! I see Mrazek is playing very well. Getting outshot like crazy, but all that matters is goals. -

I'm all for having guys on the team who will back other players up, but the era of the enforcer is over. Having a guy who is only good at throwing punches and can't skate, shoot, or score is nothing but a waste of a roster spot. Now if you have a guy that can fight, as well as help the team offensively or defensively, then that's different. But just some meatbag with a uniform who is a liability anytime the puck gets near him...nah.

Good idea. Or just head down there for game time when the Wings are in Toronto and only have to do it once. My luck though i'd pick the drug kingpins with their machine gun toting bodyguards waiting in a car across the street.

Start Howard, but give him a very short leash. If he starts looking like bobblin' Bob..get him out of there and put Mrazek in. Start him next game, and if he falters, switch again. Bout all Babs can do. s***ty sitch to be in.

Perfectly said. Exactly how I feel as well. I hate the Bruins, but I'd rather see them make the playoffs than the Pens. Maybe all their bandwagon fans, who roughly consist of 70% 20-30 year old women who know pretty much nothing about hockey, just that they like Crosby and the Penguin logo is "cute" will shut up. -
Mrazek has proven nothing. He's shown he can be one hell of a goalie, but he's still prone to bad goals. Overplays, too aggressive, but he's the future with loads of potential. Howard or Mrazek playing won't make much of a difference right now. Just play and see how far you can go I guess. All that can be done.

LOL The Wings looked like s*** that game. It's like "You realize this ONE game decides if you win the cup"? At home nonetheless. Then Crosby skating the cup around the Joe ice when it was over was the barf on the cake. -
After hearing what's happened with Cole, and seeing him put into some posters lineups, do you figure he's worth the risk of resigning (if he's cleared to play next season that is)? Sounds like a serious injury that will most likely haunt him as long as he plays.

Yeah, I remember being worried in 2009 heading into the playoffs with Ozzie starting after his bad reg. season, but he just seemed to flip a switch the first minute of the first game and was extremely solid throughout. Two goals away from a back to back championship. Man the final minutes of that Game 7 were hard to watch. -

Yeah, puck popped up and smith clearly stuck his hand out while sitting on the bench to glove it to the ice. Resulted in 5 on 3..Habs scored. -

I wear contacts and they don't bother me when I play goal. Have'nt played in a couple years, but yeah. Obv they have to be the right prescription, and don't wear the same pair longer than a few months, never sleep in them(breathable night and day brands are bulls***). Other than that, just gotta make sure to keep them wet and clean with eye drops at breaks in the game, etc. Should'nt be any problem. Quite a few NHLers wear contacts. -

It just seems to be the same guys making the boneheaded plays out there. Defensive lapses, can't sustain pressure, bad goaltending. Babcock with his line combos that don't make sense. I honestly think the Wings need a coaching change (pretty much the only big shakeup thats really possible at this point), and pretty soon a new GM. Holland's glory days are over IMO. -

Exactly how I feel. 24 straight years is amazing, but it really did'nt need to be this hard this season. What a change from the deadline indeed. On to the playoffs. -

It's one thing if the Wings were a fringe playoff team all season, but they were'nt. They were challenging for the Conference. Then the past month and a half they became a disaster. It's to be expected that fans will feel this way. -
