The Cap doesn't matter to Holland when doing his offseason work it seems. And he's not alone in doing this. Some GMs sign and worry later. Can always waive a good young player or two to make room for a veteran. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Drunken Canada Day golf. Should have left his cell phone at home. "Did you know you traded a perfectly good draft pick to Calgary to get that waste of space McCollum back yesterday Ken???!!!!" What...the...f***???!!!!! "Sorry Chris, the liquor was in control." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Christ. McCollum was in the Wings system for SEVEN years, did nothing much, lost the starting job in GR a couple times. Holland finally gives up on him for a year, then takes him back for an eighth season. But Mrazek is a huge issue to him. Oh irony. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Traded Vanek for one too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jets signed Mason. Hmm. He wasn't bad last season, maybe a change will get him back to where he was at one point. Probably happy to get away from that goalie graveyard in Philly too. Elliott is reported to be signing with Philly as his replacement. Last stop on the way out, Brian? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Red Wings sign D Luke Witkowski to 2 year, 750k/yr contract. Will play as F.

Nice to add some toughness for sure. How much he plays though, who knows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Meh. He's 34 soon, but it's only three years, not huge money and gives the D more experience. What scares me is that Kronwall will be half of the second pairing. Hope that's only temporary until someone else steps up. If they do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hahahaha f***in Holland and his love of former Wings/Griffins. Let's him walk after he was a bust first rounder, then he had a tryout with the Kings, released. Calgary signed him, sent him to the AHL, where he was eventually demoted to the ECHL. Then loaned to another AHL team. Another mind boggler by Holland. Waste of a pick, even if it is a 7th. Didn't say that at all. Examples man, examples. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThis team sucks anyways, not like there isn't time for this stuff right now. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just used Price as an example of a promising talented goalie that had one down season and bounced back. Too early to give up, exactly! What if the Blues had Price now like Habs fans wanted at the time, instead of getting Halak and him being gone years ago? Probably have a couple Cups. Too quick to make a permanent choice on a young goalie with question marks, especially with one season left. Do it after that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's fine if teams want to sign players to expensive deals. Not my money. Doesn't make $15 million dollars a season to play hockey any less ridiculous. If he gets close to that, I hope he donates half of it to a good charity or helps out people struggling or something. Then he can buy himself a mansion and some cars and hookers and whatever else. Howard saw very limited action, but did well. Didn't say he sucked in those games. My thing with him is reliability at this point. Getting up there in age, and has a lot of past injuries. That's a huge reason why Holland couldn't trade him. Mrazek might not even have gotten a call up for another year had they not had two glass groin goalies on the bench in him and Gus. Coreau had a 3.48 GAA with the Wings. And he had some horror show games during that run to the Calder Cup. He's not NHL ready. Starting the season with those two as your tandem. I think many would question that. But I'm done with this s*** where you turn around everything I say. Have a good one... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Carey Price once had a season with a 2.90 GAA and .905 sv% in 52 games. Not much better than Mrazek fared in 50 last season. They shoulda canned his ass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some give up so quickly... 2.26 Career regular season GAA before last season. 1.88 playoff GAA, 3 shutouts in 10 games against a great Tampa team. Yeah, let him go without seeing if last season was a one off or not. Makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

None of us know how he will do this season yet. Howard/Coreau would be borderline insanity to roll with at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, read something about Kocur like that. Just watched Parkers first fight with Probert as a rookie. Probie let him grab a hold, had his right free and ready, just dropped his ass with two good ones. Haha R.I.P. Champ!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Speaking of enforcers, I watched that doc The Last Gladiators, and Scott Parker was in it quite a bit. I know he was on the Avs Cup team in '01, and traded to SJ in '03. The Wings/Avs rivalry was still on, but I don't remember much about him. Wondering if he had any good tilts with any Wings players. Guy looks ******* crazy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edit-NM, checked hockeyfights and not one fight listed against the Wings. Looks like Probert knocked him out when he was with the Hawks though.

Another former enforcer gone. Gretzky owes that guy a lot, that's for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just saw he had 9 points in 40 games last year for STL. Yikes... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pretty sure he was tried on all kinds of different lines in Edmonton with guys like McDavid and RNH, helped a bit, but not enough. He lit up the OHL, then went straight to the NHL because the Oil desperately needed scoring. Looking back, he probably should have spent a couple years in the AHL before that, but most first overalls usually transition to the NHL pretty easily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, they do. Injury riddled "starter" and unproven AHLers is reason enough. But anyways, he's already in Detroit and signed for another season. Focus on getting him straightened out before you go and bring a busted former No. 1 pick aboard who hasn't done a thing since he was drafted with all the hype about his scoring prowess, except complain and be lazy. He can score goals, but not many at this level. Won't put the time in. Traded to STL for nothing, couldn't do anything there, now they don't want him either. Tells ya something. Uh oh. Tires about to be kicked. He might even buy a set, but nothing new. Just enough tread left to last a winter, but will still end up in a ditch at some point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Max per season is $15 million? Haha with all the talk of keeping salaries down and having parity allowing smaller markets to compete, that's a huge amount allowed for one player. The Oil have a few other great/good players heading to RFA after this season besides McDavid, like Draisaitl, Nurse, Maroon, Strome, Caggiula. Talbot is even up for a new deal in two years, and if he keeps his play up, he could be in 7 million territory. $18 mill and change in current cap. McDavid eats most of it. They'll be losing a few guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh absolutely! Tayes isn't worth his contract. Never was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Weren't other players making similar numbers when Sid signed that deal though? 8-10 is usually what the elite get. Kopitar might be at 11? 13.5 is a lot of money, but like I said, it's McDavid. If the Oilers try to lowball, they could face losing they're greatest player since Gretzky. They'll sign the check for whatever he asks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That picture always just said "immature ******* idiot" to me. He probably threw it off the balcony after and watched people on the street rumble for it. But ya, McDavid is gonna want paid, and will get it. $13 million a season though? That's ridiculous. I know Kane and Tayes make $10 million per each, and McDavid is a better player, but these days with the cap, even the super elite players have to try to be somewhat reasonable with their contract numbers. Every extra bit they make is a bit less to put into surrounding them with the players needed to win Cups. Whatever though, he'll probably get it. And anything else he ever wants for the rest of his life. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's a valid comparison. Don't need Yak and his bulls*** here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
