Does not matter who wins this series. They are Detroit 2013-now in the sense that they might reach round 2 if lucky. Wrong thread for it, but just a note that every team is so similar so far I've seen in the playoffs (and regular season) that I am considering just dropping watching alltogether. Just pushed this reasoning here because of their likeness to our team the last 4 years.

I would fit in category 2. Especially regarding curvaciuous ladies, with some special rulesets applied.

That Svech move was very nice. Worth a rewatch if you appreciate good dekes. I was sure he was gonna go top shelf with his backhand since he flipped his wrist over, indicating he'd raise the puck - he went five hole instead, pushing the puck, unorthodox and creative. Liking this Russian so far. Good speed too.

Excellent loss. And with that said I don't like losing to a bunch of kids, from Toronto on top of that. Why excellent? Because after our loss and Dallas's win we have sailed down to the 5th worst position. And why is that good? Because of the draft pick percentage chances.

I think a bit like Legs 2 posts above. The only one possibly eligible is Henrik Zetterberg but that depends on how he ends his career. His book is not quite written yet. He is clearly a star and has shown supreme will, both to combat a very serious back injury and to will himself to be the best player on the team despite losing his speed after that back incident at the age of 36. That's some good stuff. It was clear that he could not drive this group to the playoffs but he still gave it his all. If he keeps this up for the duration of his contract and doesn't decline too much I think he has earned the right to hang next to the greatests. Barely.

Sheahan played a big part in our disastrous effort to further the streak. I say hang him.

What the hockey gods didn't give to Helm, they gave to Athanasiou. He has some hands for sure. Goes well with that speed. Like wine & cheese.

Brendan Smith-like play by Larkin. That puck is off limits. But I like it, could help us get a top 5 pick. Would have preferred it being Sheahan that tipped that puck in our own net though.

A good loss! It looked bleak there a while until Kucherov got going. Mantha showing anger and he fought well. Keep losing em, not many games left until the draft. We need a top 5 pick.

I have been writing that our wins haven't been good for us when we have indeed won - once established that we won't be making the playoffs. But I'll buy your argument for this one. Thought it myself. If there's any team I want to subjugate when they last visit the joe it is the Avs. So good win. And I am glad that Sheahan didn't score. I want him not scoring any goal this season. I want him to center our fourth line going forward. In other words I think he is a good 4th line center - I just want the angle to get him very cheap and to feel that it is his only (guaranteed) spot.

Bad win. Mrazek should have folded in the shootout. Perhaps make him the number one goalie if he agrees to take some dives this season. We need to drop lower in the standings if at all possible.

Larkin might have been a power forward in the minors or whatever. In the NHL he simply can not play power forward. He would be instantly injured or have bad output compared to personnel suited for the role. On top of that his primary weapon is his speed. Bulk him up for the power forward role and you slow him down. Put him on wing, I don't think he's a center, could possibly develop into one but I am not seeing it right now.

Dunno I think that redhead dude would be good for us. Adds colors, you know?

Doesn't work that way. The call-up is the ultimate ticket for any player in the AHL, regardless of whatever team they play for. They believe, and have been told that they are brought up to add unique value, driving the group forward. Of course they would love bringing in a Calder cup. But it is a mere shadow to playing in the bright lights of the NHL.

Oh boy Russo got bombed badly in his first game. Being a defenseman I could see he had big time trouble with the speed of the NHL. And Babcock ordered his hoodlums to bust in, it was not by accident Russo got hit over and over, Babs wanted him to cough up the puck. With that said, don't give up hope on Russo. He got shocked but could still be an asset. Let him recover and more importantly refelct over his debut, he might still have something special. We need to see half a dozen+ games before we can say what's going on.
