Sweden with 4-1 lead going into the 3rd period over Denmark. Game over, the Danes aren't catching up to that. As for players regarding their performance versus a NHL season, in my opinion no of course it does not. It simply shows if you are a prospect or not. NHL is bigger size-wise, more skilled and more physical. At the same time the NHL is slower. But don't expect to speed through the blueline without busting something. There's a reason the game is a little slower and more dump-and-chase.

Not bad at all I agree with most of your ideas. I have suggested moving Ericsson to net front presence/forward a couple of times on the forums before. Given that we are stuck with him, let's use his size and let him sweat it out at the crease. Some of your moves are not possible I'd reckon, for instance Datsyuk wouldn't be coming back because of Radulov. But if they were, I'm good with them. Addon: I am hearing good things about Marchenko such as him having much more upside that we have seen from good sources, I'd like to keep him a little longer to see if that's true.

Having watched both Matthews and Laine in full games in the WC, I'd go with Laine as the nr 1 pick. I had to pause and think if I'm right about this, but yes he plays like freaking Mario Lemieux. Possible game changer. Thankfully we have some more games to see whatup with these gems.

Also D-Boss Larkin is playing the 1C position I believe. That is invaluable experience and bodes well for next season.

I agree with what you said here. Would like to add that if Mrazek improves, which some of us thinks he does, that alone could sail us into the playoffs despite some flaws. Look at Montreal with/without Price. Crazy. Have to ask though, you aren't Ken Holland? Not only the points but the buildup is on par on what he said in his exit interview.

Better hire a phychologist if we were to have Radulov coming in and draft this guy. Not saying we shouldn't do it. We are drafting late, have to be looking for angles.

I heard several interviews during this season that Anaheim won't let Fowler go so I disregard him for now. He's worthy of pursuing as well of course.

I see where you're at with this. I do believe Vatanen is a top 4 defenseman but has a much lower ceiling than what I really want, which is Lindholm. He is at #1 at my want list. My thinking is, shake things up in Anaheim with a good proposal by checking what they ask for either one. As it stands they are probably going to have to let one of them go. If we can get Lindholm do it, even if it's costly. Offer for Vatanen as a consolation prize with reduced payback to Anaheim. He would still place top 4 within our system.

I am getting more and more convinced that we need to save our guns and then fire a huge broad salvo at Anaheim Ducks for either Vatanen or Lindholm. They are potential franchise type players. I'm confident Anaheim won't let Lindholm go - he's just too good to let go, but our salvo consisting of appeasing forwards sprinkled with draft picks might loosen them up and land us Vatanen, who is a legit top 4 slated to be a top pairing D-man. Coupled with DeKeyser I can see the beginnings of something promising on the defensive side.

Yes he might be gone before the 5th team picks, let alone 8th, however there is a chance he might be up for grabs. Depends on what the top pickers need. I agree that it's risky believing he'll be available at #8. As for pick 1-3, they are locked in and will go in order 1.Matthews 2.Laine 3.Puulujärvi. This holds true even if one were to break a leg or similar during the WC.

At the 8th pick you could probably get Chchyrun, the defenseman that is being discussed lately in this thread. The scouting is rigorous these days, any clear stars are long gone at #16. Larkin (#15, 2014) was an aberration, he was certainly predicted as good but has shown he's a budding star. Would probably have gone top 5, 7 at most in the aftermath.

Yep. I saw that one coming. Good that the commission picked it up, the hit was dirty and should be rectified. This should spice things up in the Pit-Was matchup, Letang has been playing lights out and any abscence will open things up on the Penguins defense.

I think if he sees an opportunity, such as a team might inquire for this player and the Detroit pick for our pick, he might do it. He might also ask teams he knows from before that has the hots for a certain player that's above us in the draft. However, judging from his hour long exit interview I doubt he'll go out swinging to force a deal through.

Addon as to why. We were the first team out of the playoffs, ie we placed in 16th position this year = we draft at 16.
